So I just posted this image along with a cry for help on my main Tumblr blog. I can't help feel that it's somehow emotionally coercive, but the reality is that I've got some medical issues that need addressing, and they will in fact tie me up for most of February.

For those not in the know I started feeling chest/heart pain on January 31st, but it was fairly minor (I figured I was just having some heart burn.) However, it did not go away and was later accompanied by an elevated heart rate and stabbing pain.

There are about 12 different major reasons a person may be sent to the emergency room with a complaint of chest pain/ discomfort of which 3 are cardiac based:

Pulled rib muscle or creaked rib
Collapsed lung - you have no signs of this.
Heartburn due to reflux
Heart attack or angina
Pneumonia
Plurisy
Pancreatitis - one of the reasons for the echo
Pericarditis - one of the reasons for the echo
Drug withdrawal
Anxiety/ Panic attack.
Spasms of the esophagus.

The tests they performed ruled out the scary/major cardiac reasons

Happy to state that I don't have Pneumonia, not going through Drug Withdrawal, I don't have a collapsed lung, and if Chris Evans were here with me now and pants-less I'd be more than happy to sign up for some Spasms of the esophagus.

So that's the good news. However a 2nd EKG the following day revealed a slight abnormality in the rhythm of my heartbeat. I have an echocardiography scheduled for next week, so they can rule out a physical issue with my heart and lungs. Meaning, they're going to attach a bunch of diodes to my chest and monitor my life signs as I walk, jog, then run on a treadmill for 10 minutes.

I'm dreading the procedure, while at the same time beaming with joy that I get to live out an NFL beer commercial montage.

My posts may be a little light, in other words. I want to stay as productive with my art as I can but needless to say my healing process may eat up all of my time. Even if it turns out I'm having one giant panic attack, which is an honest possibility.

With the Patreon App, however, you can view EXCLUSIVE video/photo stories from yours truly. It essentially functions exactly like Instagram and Instagram Stories. So if you have any familiarity or fondness with those kind of posts then you are in luck my friend! ^_^

Hell, we'll see if they let me make a post while I'm on the treadmill...

(they won't)

I had to do the treadmill-echocardiography test last year. FWIW, I didn't find it bad - the really exhausting running uphill bit only lasted a brief time. Good luck!

*offers hugs* Be gentle with yourself if you can?

Thanks. I’m trying, it’s not so easy for me though since I’m accustomed to a faster lifestyle. Resting makes me feel guilty! 🤕
