No my account has not been hacked, I wanted to share this video because for the most part I'm not sure how aware folks are of the kind of backlash my comics receive.

I (like many people) sometimes google my own name and I'm fortunate enough to have to skip a few pages before I see anything negative. But in many corners of the internet my work is not only disliked, it's sometimes used a rallying flag for other abusive folk:

As a rule when I encounter stuff like this I delete/ignore and move on. I don't see much point ringing my hands over a small percentage of people who read my work trying to upset me - when the vast majority of my readers are incredibly supportive.

Furthermore I don't make an effort to publish their vitriol because I don't want to alarm my younger readers, or hold space for something that isn't worthy of space.

Anyway. Both of these are from some time ago and I actually find the video kind of adorable? Obviously a hesitant fan. I guess my point is, this has never been easy.

Sometimes I wish things were easier. But nothing is ever truly easy, and at the end of the day? if you're not challenging yourself in some way then it's difficult to grow.
