One of the more consistent pieces of advice I've heard for budding artists, freelancers, and Patreon users is to never be shy to call on family for help. To put it another way I'll quote The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition no. 111:

"Treat people in your debt like family... exploit them."

The fact is when I think of privilege - specifically my privilege - my family is one of my most pronounced advantages. My mother and father, brother, and wife all support me on Patreon.

This should be of no great surprise given the amount of support they provide outside of it. I owe so much to these beloved humans. They are my base, my foundation, my rock. So if you'll indulge me some mushiness I'd like to quickly say some words of gratitude:

Mom: Thank you for your patience, your dazzling intelligence and wit, and your ability to listen when it matters the most.

Dad: Thank you for your hard work, your soft-hearted kindness, and your earnest desire to help whenever possible.

Brother: Thank you for your understanding, your profundity in all things, and your deep well of generosity.

Wife: Thank you for sharing, thank you for loving me and accepting my love in return, thank you for pushing yourself always to do and become better.

My family typically gets front row seats to my many tantrums, freak-outs, and crises. And let me tell you I put on quite a show. Thank you all, always and forever!
