Stupid black gradient! >_< (Patreon)

I noticed on my new cover image didn't look quite the way I wanted so I designed an even simpler image - only to discover Patreon has a gradient that automatically applies itself to any cover image. No way to turn it off.

The solution seems to be making a darker image such that it won't very dramatic but as you can see it takes up more than half of the dimensions.

BAH.
