Vacation Post #5 - The Sands of Time (Patreon)
Content
The Hubbell family has been staying in the same house in Brewster MA for so long we have no idea how many years it's been. What we do know is this is the first entry in the guest book:
The next entry I'd write was years later - and includes my best friend who agreed to come with us. This was a bold (perhaps foolhardy) move on both our parts.
Alex and I had met in the 6th grade, but hadn't been at all romantic with one another until we were in college. I was so nervous I hardly pooped.
Since 2010 we've made entries into the guest book every year.
The entries themselves aren't exactly poetry but it became a tradition.
These folks actually responded hehe!
As I've mentioned before in these vacation posts, I have traveled to Cape Cod for two weeks every year since I was born. It is absolutely a privilege. The land there is inexorably bound to the ocean. It is a totally unique blend of sand, salt, and whatever rugged plants are hardy enough to grow there.
We're definitely coming back. There's no question about that. It's just a matter of time and experience. We've not traveled to any other place and practice makes perfect. Next year we're traveling WEST!
Until we meet again, Cape Cod!
