Citizen Action Squad (Patreon)

Earlier in July I was approached by Citizen Action of NY to produce a series of portraits for an upcoming fundraising event.

The idea was to draw a roster of activists as super heroes. Initially this didn't really rub me the right way since I believe anyone can (and should!) be an activist. Normal everyday people can do that work, it doesn't take super powers.

Luckily the team there had no interest in depicting the team like larger-than-life Marvel/DC superheroes.

Truth is though, the more I learned about the individuals in question the more onboard I am with honoring their accomplishment with flair. These folks are powerful, they have accomplished a lot. And frankly the work they do is incredibly difficult.

What I hope to do is to create works that inspire them when they're down. Goodness knows it's hard to stay positive sometimes. I'll share everything as I go! <3
