I may not have communicated this, but I've been experiencing chronic pain since May 8th. It's a constant discomfort. Finally saw someone today after waiting two weeks.
I'll be on a light dose of Gabapentin at night, they figure there's a nerve firing.
Monday we schedule a Varicocelectomy AKA abdominal surgery.
[UPDATE: not taking Gabapentin, when I read the side effects included increased Suicidal thoughts/Depression it was a hard pass. Just taking Ibuprofen. The bastards never called today (Monday)]
We would've penciled it in today but the person who does that is on vacation. -_-
All things considered I could've come out of my appointment with much scarier news. I inherited Varicoceles from my father, and it wasn't a huge deal for him to have that fixed in the 80's. The methods have improved since then—and if I'm being honest—I enjoy being put under. I'm weird like that.
Less fun will be the one week recovery time, during which I'm not to lift anything over six pounds. Woof! I'll probably be on the couch.
It's stressful to proceed knowing it's their best guess, and not an exact-precise answer. Part of me wonders how much pain I am contributing myself from worry.
Moving forward I'm going to attempt a more zen-like existence. I've been talking about taking up meditation again but I'm going to try to be SERIOUS about it.
Yuck.
