So! The wheels are in motion to correct the fine folks at Patient and Family Relations RE: getting my name wrong and using problematic language in an attempted formal apology.

Normally I'll let just about everything slide, I'm accustomed to mistakes. But I want to hold them to this to help inform them. I need them to serve the Trans community better, we all do...

...and (in fact) I have learned that Urology has undergone training in response to gender exclusive incidents before, and more is forthcoming. I'm not the only one.

Not my favorite thing to think about heading into the procedure. I'm still in pain. Every day. These are just some of many worrisome thoughts I'm contending with, but I want to make something clear:

I'm happy to say that my efforts to be cool, calm, comfortable, and collected are largely successful. Every day I'm going out of my way to engage with feelings of joy. I go for bike rides, hikes, walks. I'm playing games, reading books, eating well. I've fallen off my schedule a bit but I'm making art every day.

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. I'm choosing to suffer as little as possible. The personal portrait work is helping with that, and I'm grateful for friends checking in on me.

I'm also grateful for your pledge, thank you. Truly.

And here's the big news:

The day after my surgery I will be driven to a Meet and Greet. I will have a face to face encounter with my first Professional Wrestler. I will be representing ATW. Of all the Professional Wrestlers I could be meeting, this particular one is considered one of the greatest, and he's one of my personal all time favorites.

MAYBE I'LL THINK ABOUT TELLING U WHO IT IS AND MAYBE I WON'T
