The first comic I made about Racism is here

The second is here

The third is here

While not addressing racism, current works strive to be as racially inclusive as possible (for example 4 of the 6 people here are POC)

Despite my lack of published works specifically addressing racism I am ALWAYS thinking about it and have wanted to do a comic about it desperately. But as a White person the challenge to speak on Racism compotently and accurately is staggering. UNTIL LAST NIGHT when I realized I could make a comic about WHY IT'S HARD  TO TALK ABOUT RACISM.

Problem with first comic on racism: I say "artists" instead of "white artists" which implies that all artists are white. A most definite comic could be done in the future about Colorism - since ultimately the best solution for representing people of color is using color. But many white artists suffer from the confines of Colorism which prohibits them from creating characters of color except on their own terms (which have racism). Problem with 2nd comic: Asking ONE Black person their thoughts on the N Word is not equivalent to understanding the word. Black folk aren't monolithic and there has to be a thorough/holistic/sincere approach to understanding the complexity behind the word. Problem with 3rd comic: Arms should be crossed in front, not in back. Awkward.
