Having Taken a Break (Patreon)

Alex is a school librarian and—therefore—got all of last week off.  So I took a week off right alongside her.  Initially we had planned to paint a room together, but decided to postpone until we could open windows for ventilation.

So instead we took three days to embark on a writing retreat.  For three hours 9am to 12pm we wrote poetry, and it was lovely.

We came away from it highly motivated to absorb it into a regular practice.  And both noted that people pay hundreds of dollars for such retreats.

Two of those days I spent all three hours on a single poem.  I'm nit-picky and very rusty so I can't say that I wrote anything terrific.  But imagine how good we'll be in our 90s if this became a regular thing!

We completed month 22 of _QU3ST and are into our first week of month 23.  And I got a little bit more work done on the triptych:
