I will reveal here and nowhere else that the book in question is "The Valley of the Dolls" by Jacqueline Susann.

The book is referenced in "Slaughterhouse Five" and also "The Brothers Karamazov."  I got out both from the library, but the clincher was when Valley was ALSO referenced in—get this—one of my Wrestling podcasts!

So I'm reading it.  I can't say I love this book.  There's a homophobic slur written approximately every 5-10 pages.  Usually twice per page.  Obnoxious.

It's a dry read though.  I know NOTHING about this book except that it was the best seller of 1966, and several TV/Movie adaptations followed.

That's why I refuse to put the title/author in the cartoon (I normally would, and might later) because if ANYONE tried to spoil this book I'd raise hell.

Ooh, I actually haven't read that one! I just finished reading "Hopepunk" last night and it was so very lovely!

I'm nearing the finish, and don't recommend it. My grade at this time is a D.
