Thanks for the reaction. One of the best movies of all time. Early in the movie when viewers notice Vin Diesel, they may miss what overwhelmed the Jewish guy (Private Mellish) emotionally was holding the Hitler Youth knife. After serving as tank gunner in North Africa and being awarded a medal for destroying a bridge, my grandfather landed on a Normandy beach on D-Day. He didn't really talk about D-Day, but he did tell my brother that he could hear bullets whistling by as he was running onto the beach. I recommend the miniseries "Band of Brothers" (2001) (10 episodes) [RT=97%, IMDb=9.4] produced by TOM HANKS and Steven Spielberg. Don't see many shows with a 9+ IMDb rating. Many reactors have reacted to Band of Brothers.

I've only watched this movie a total of three times since 1998. I watched it in theatres when it first came out, then once about ten years later, and now this time. That is about as often as I can manage to watch it because you're right, it's absolutely draining. I've heard stories that WWII veterans who attended the opening of the film, and others who just went to the theatre to see it, ended up having to leave the theatre during the opening twenty minutes of them storming the beaches of Normandy, because it was so realistic and true to life, that it was triggering for them and they had to get away. That is both utterly heartbreaking and an amazing example of how much work went into making this movie feel real. It does an incredible job, in my opinion of showing the heroism of the soldiers without glorifying war itself. What they were doing was important. But it was also brutal, and awful and would fully change you forever. There's no way it couldn't. The movie is amazingly cast, incredibly acted and directed. The cinematography is phenomenal - some of the shots of them marching through the terrain were chilling. I'm thinking particularly of the one shot where they are in silhouette against the bombs going off far away - stunning! I'm so glad you got to see this, though I know how much it can take out of you, so thanks for picking it, and I'm sending you hugs. ❤️ Hope you get to watch something fun and heartwarming next!! ❤️

The two germans who surrended at the start, that they couldnt understand, I beleive they are saying something like "we are prisoners" or something in czech, not german. they were forced to fight for the germans

Its a emotional and sad movie to watch indeed! But also a important story from WWII. One of the few good authentic war movies with no cliche. Def my favourite! Another good war movie imo is "Hacksaw Ridge" Makes me cry everytime.. Andrew Garfield that have the lead role is such an amazing actor! Omg if you have not seen it before I hope we get to see your reaction of it sometime!

Fubar is : f..... up beyond any recognition... at the start the bomb's were artillery shells. That's why private was in the airborne parachute behind enemy lines to take those out. Please watch " band of brothers the series 10 episode " you will understand +before each episode the real veterans explained everything!!! Good reaction you are legit!

Never forget that war is a terrible thing and history always repeats itself! Knowing you have kids and a wonderful husband, you're husband will certainly make the ultimate sacrifice to defend you and his kids for freedom! Remember that
