So this my favorite Denzel Washington movie . I'm watching and saying all the lines with the movie . He won a Oscar for this role. Denzel in a interview says his Alonzo character is a good guy with a different point of view. People asked him about always playing a good guy in movies .

Tjbosslyfe

That's what's fun about the movie. Everyone thinks something different. Some people think Denzel was a scum character. Some people think he was doing what he had to do.

This was Terry crews first movie I think. And this the first time I saw a movie with Eva Mendez. She wasn't as famous during this movie . Her and Denzel have another movie called Out of Time . Eva blew up after this movie .

Alonzo did give Ethans character a bunch I'd times to get out car . He kept going along for the ride . I was excited. I was wondering would you notice the guy from Buffy. Probably most hated guy on Buffy beside the principal.

This movie had me overthinking everything

So I like to write stories. I would have Jake as Dirty cop corrupted by the system. Reputation ruined by Alonzo death. If they made a sequel. Not going to happen . That's why I'm going to write it myself lol 😆 Jake still has to deal with Alonzo team too. So I don't think Jake had a happy ending. You know they probably went after Jake. The movie ended . We will never know.

🤣🤣🤣 The naivety was outstanding in this one!!!! ‘It’s just a test, right??’ 😂😂😂 I’ve never had so much fun rewatching a movie! As you’ve stated, Denzel Washington’s acting performance cannot be compared. He has you convinced everything he said to be true.

I wanted him to be good SO BAD!!!

> Cops execute a guy to steal his money “It’s just a test!” Lol This movie (and the tv show The Shield) is based on a real LAPD scandal that was, believe it or not, probably more insane than what happened in this movie. Alonzo’s license plate number is “ORP 967” for “Officer Rafael Perez” who was born in 1967. Look up “LAPD Rampart Scandal” and “Rafael Perez”. Absolute insanity. So much corruption—bank robberies, murder, shooting people then framing them & sending them to prison for decades, the murder of Biggie, ties to gangs, and on and on—that a google search will autocomplete “scandal” if you type “rampart”. There’s dozens of documentaries about Ramparts/Perez on YT.
