Evie, so glad you watched this film. I watched your Part 1 reaction about 3 weeks ago, & saw you hadn't gotten to Part 2 yet, so I'm glad I was instrumental in giving you the push to see it. Personally, I completely understood Kay's position. She really shouldn't have married Michael in the first place. She was not part of their world, but she was too naïve to see what she was getting into, plus Michael said initially he had no desire to be part of the family's "business". She was very WASPy in a world of hot-blooded Sicilians. Italians are known, among other things, to be lovers of violence & bloodshed. Their love of life expresses itself in a very warlike way, & they don't tolerate anyone getting in the way of their plans, which is tricky when each of them want to be the Caesar. The Mafia way of life IS a sick way of life, & Kay was a very sweet person who stood out like a sore thumb. She should've figured out a different way to leave Michael, though. Michael never really loved her anyway, he only married her as a strategy, for appearances. I think he thought it made him seem more American, & he may have wanted to go into politics at some point. I thought the flashback end scene showed how even back then, Michael was alone, taking a different trajectory in the world. Perhaps he thought being a war veteran would be a useful past to have should the circumstance arise to defend himself with it. He had a keen mind for strategy. Also, I don't think you noticed that, in both movies, oranges became a symbol that meant death was coming for someone. 🍊🍊🍊 Sorry to hear about your fam not being well, I hope you & yours recover soon from this. Cheers! 🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇

People often mistakenly view the courtroom scene as Michael making a threat to kill the brother. It was actually Frankie not wanting his brother to witness him breaking omerta.

I love that Michael remembers Fredo was the only one to support his enlistment, right after he kills Fredo. Absolutely tragic.

I agree with you about Kay as well! & I did notice the oranges but I failed to link them to death😧 I’ll pay more attention while editing it for YouTube😌
