The actress who plays Debra is by far the best actor on the show . She has the most range . Dexter has to pretty much play emotionaless all the time. So he can be one note sometimes he funny a crazy as that sounds .

That's the things about therapy. A person is either savable or not. The therapist is taken on that responsibility. People like Dexter usually go to jail an never get therapy. Or people get diagnosed with mental illness an attack a school . It's very important. But nothing is full proof . Therapy is still taboo in some communitys.

Jennifer Carpenter is so good at portraying Deb and sells grief/trauma so well. I agree with your sentiment that Deb is hating on herself. She's punishing herself since she knows she did something deeply wrong/immoral/unethical. And yet she feels she did the right thing since she loves Dexter. It is really hard to see her like this. Also, what's with the therapists in this show. One tries to sell incest and the other helps create serial killers! And your analysis of who the serial killer might be was seriously good. It felt like a typical unsub profile speech from an episode of Criminal Minds!
