I love this movie. I thought the whole idea was so clever and in today's crazy reality TV world not as far-fetched as I might once have thought!

Great reaction :) Oddly enough this movie was a bit of a wake-up call for me when I watched it the first time, and it still is. Made me realize how one-sided my life was most of the time. Always doing the same things, always surrounded by the same people, always going the same places. Very rarely doing anything spontaneous.

The ‘labels attached to the things they see’ (words) are the “roles”, whether it be a parent, a banker, a student, an athlete, a tall person, long haired person, or a combination of multiple. These roles even come with obligations and expectations of behaviour - they dictate the nature of the play. Or is the society in which we live not designed such that the populace is trained primarily to ensure the interests of centralised power? In the movie, whenever he comes close to a breakthrough he is gaslit with comforting memories (your mind’s self preservative compulsion). Where was anybody clued into the fact they don’t know what they are? At most, we learned a sound with which we associate themselves. Never clued in to what we’ve missed. “We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented”.
