Love this episode. They said it was written as a love letter to the fans. 🙂❤️ I'm still watching your reaction, but thought I'd make a few comments as I go. Regarding the whole "Wincest" thing. No. Just no. I don't see it and think it's gross. Now, Destiel on the other hand, I totally ship. Lol 💙💚 (but I'm okay with people who don't ) I love all the little nods to things from the different seasons. I think the girls did an amazing job. Them singing Carry on my Wayward Son brings legit tears to my eyes. And Deans expression as he watches them sing .. my heart.❤️ The song by "Dean" about the single man tear lol. So funny yet so not funny at the same time. I love Dean's speech to them before they perform .. telling them to put as much sub into the text as they possibly can.😂 I love how Marie (the play's director) realizes at the end that it's really them, and gives the samulet back to Dean. ❤️❤️

Yeah. Dean/Sam/Jensen/Jared playing them N E V E R gave the incesty subtext or text vibe ever not once leading up to Episode 10x5. Just the brother vibe like Evie said. It was always weirdy freaks who read it that way and subsequently made content about it that, and this ep kinda makes fun of that. Dean/Castiel/Jensen/Misha on the other hand.......................

Do you mean Dean/Castiel/Jensen/Misha? They have AMAZING crackle on the screen chemistry imho. To be honest, on first watch, I was kind of on the fence about if I really saw Destiel as a thing... but on rewatches, it is SOOOO glaringly obvious. At points, the writers were barely putting sub in the text. It was pretty much just text. LOL I am honestly NOT one of those people who just automatically ships two hot guys on a show who share a deep friendship. BUT, that's simply not how I see their relationship. Sure, it may have started out that way... but it definitely grew and is continuing to grow. (But, I respect those who don't see it that way. I hate when people literally are nasty attacking each other on social media who share a different view.)

I'm so happy you loved this episode! I love it too! It's SO well done, such a great 200th episode, and a great little nod to the fans and the fandom. This episode definitely ranks high on my list. Sam, Dean and Marie all say they hate the meta stories, but I LOVE them! 😁 And this one is no exception! First of all, the music is so awesome! It serves two purposes at once. For example, "Single Man Tear" is so fabulous because it manages to poke fun at Dean's famous *one perfect tear* (that has caused so many of us to cry whole buckets of tears!) while also giving us truly beautiful lyrics like: He hides behind a mask so strong Worried that he could be wrong I wish that he could see the way I see him The perfect brother, a man without sin Cause underneath the manly sheen It is my brother, a boy named Dean Like, Sam saying he wished Dean could see himself the way he sees him, and that underneath it all, Dean is just a boy - someone who never got a chance to be a kid. 😩😩 So true, so beautiful - so well written. And yes, that version of Carry On Wayward Son is rip-your-heart-out beautiful. The girls singing it are so talented. The shots of Dean and Sam watching, and really listening to the lyrics and taking it all to heart - ugh!! 😩😩 I just can't. I love all the little meta jokes, like the Wincest shipping thing (yes, it has a name, and no I absolutely don't get it either. I've only ever gotten that close, brotherly bond feeling from them as well) and the Destiel shipping thing - which is a ship I understand better than Wincest. But still, I just don't ship them - they're besties and essentially brothers as well to my mind. Loved the 4th wall break of Dean being completely unimpressed with the Destiel thing. 😄 I loved the insertion of the Samulet into the play, and back into the brothers lives. Loved Dean responding to Marie's "Jerk" with "Bitch." and then realizing he just called a 16 year-old girl a bitch. 😆 Love that Marie finally calls him Dean just before that, accepting finally that he is who he says he is. I absolutely love the moment where the guy in the audience quickly puts on his poncho when he realizes things are goin' down! 😄 He's the only one who's prepared when the scarecrow explodes! 😁 Ooh, and I love that we got to see a little cameo of Chuck at the end! Back in 8x07 (A Little Slice of Kevin) Cas says he doesn't know what happened to Chuck, but if Kevin was the prophet Chuck must be dead because only one prophet could exist at a time. So... 🤔🤔 ...where ya been, Chuck? Anyway, I just love this whole episode, but I know it's not for everyone. Some people really hate musicals, some people don't like all the meta stuff, I know some fans (especially at the time, I think) felt like it was making fun of the fandom, which is a take I just don't get at all. I mean, feel how you feel, of course, but I see nothing but love for the fandom and for the series in this episode. So, anyway, just saying I'm very glad you enjoyed it so much! The ending with Dean hanging the fake Samulet on the mirror and the boys driving off into the sunset makes me teary every time too. 😍 This was a fabulous reaction, and there's so much more awesome to come in S10!

Thanks for that! 😊 I've never shipped Destiel and have gotten some truly nasty comments, (and some supremely obsessive direct messages determined to make me see how wrong I was!) from shippers, simply for stating my POV, so now, I'm kind of traumatized about the whole Destiel thing. So I REALLY appreciate when folks are calm about it, and not insane. I say ship who you ship, but accept others will see it differently, and vice versa. And I feel like, this episode was also saying that - we all see the story in our own way, and that's cool.

And (cause I haven't rambled enough!) that little moment at the beginning where Dean is working on Baby in his little grey t-shirt - pure fan service! And I'm 100% here for it! 😁

@Linda Oh, I understand. I've been attacked myself FOR shipping them. Some people go beserk on both sides. As much as I LOVE LOVE LOVE it, it is still just a show and they are just characters (although, admittedly, sometimes it is hard to remember that because of how much we've grown to love them)...but it is NOT worth being so horrible to other people over a ship. Even if the writers flat out announced from a rooftop either "yes, destiel is a thing!" or "no, destiel is not a thing"... people (IMHO) still have the right to say, yeah/no they see it or don't. I don't think either Dean OR Castiel would want us to be hateful to each other. (Neither would Jensen or Misha.) Anyways, all that ramble to say.... my shipping heart sends your non-shipping heart all the love. =)

Oh man!! Evie, I was waiting for your reaction when Marie was telling Dean about the Destiel subtext and Jensen looks into the camera with a priceless look , but you looked away to talk to us and missed it! ☹️ We all love Jensen’s ability to use his facial expressions to convey his feelings and that was perfection. Jensen improvised that in the moment.

My all time favorite. This is one of the episodes I've been waiting to see your reaction to. Also Jensen and Jared hearing carry on at the end was the first time they saw it so their teary reactions was real and I love that😊

I don't think Dean was looking at the Mary actress during 'Carry On'. Both Jensen and Jared heard that version for the first time during filming. Phil Scriggicia (sp?) the director, kept them away from set during rehearsals. So that the camera got their first reaction to the song. It's soooo much better than that terrible version during the Finale. I wished they had used this one instead.
