I'm so glad you enjoyed this one - it's definitely a fan favourite. Which is why I know I'm in the small minority when I say it's really not a favourite of mine. For me, I enjoy it, and I give it a solid 6.5 - 7 out of 10, but, much like Plush, it's pretty much at the bottom of S11 for me. Like you, I also think the concept of Zanna is really sweet, and Sully is a sweet character. I also get a kick out of some of the funnier moments (like when Sully first shows up in the bunker, and the scene in your thumbnail.) But I find the rest of the episode just kind of m'eh. 🤷‍♀️ I don't like who the actual killer turns out to be (I preferred your concept that the Darkness was trying to turn kids dark. Very interesting!) I also don't like the idea that the episode puts out there that Dean "wasn't there for Sam". Because I think eleven seasons of back story about their childhood would say very differently. I hate that Dean thinks he "wasn't there for his little brother" just because it took him a while to convince John not to leave a nine-year-old Sam alone in a motel room. Cause I have no doubt that John only changed his mind because Dean wouldn't drop it. I feel like someone in the episode should have mentioned, "Actually, Dean gave up his entire childhood to be there for Sam, but during this one tough time it was good Sully was there too." It's probably just the dean girl in me being overprotective of Dean. I do get that Sully was good for Sam and I love that he reminded him that he was his own person, who had options. And I appreciate that he reminded him, as an adult, that he's a hero, and helped him come to terms with feeling afraid about the cage. I also agree that Dean's initial reaction to Sully was because he felt guilty that Sam needed an imaginary friend in the first place. And I think one of the things that bothers me about the episode is that that guilt is completely unwarranted, but no one addresses it. They (and by they I mean the writers) act as though Dean is right to feel bad because there was like a two month period where he couldn't immediately help Sam and fix his situation. I don't know, there's just something about the episode that hits wrong for me. 🤷‍♀️ Like I said, though, I'm definitely in the minority, most people love this one. But I do still enjoy parts of the episode, and I enjoyed how much you enjoyed it. This was the first episode that Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel/Trickster) directed, and you can see his fingerprints in the slightly macabre comedic moments. ("She has sparkle on her face!" 😄) Still enjoying going through S11 with you. Can't wait for the next one! As per usual. ❤️

I enjoy this episode. It's funny and sweet and Sully is very charming. I don't like or care about the young girl who is killing the zana but she doesn't take away from Sully. The actor, Nate Torrence, was at a Supernatural convention I watched last year and appears to be just as sweet and humble as Sully. I will agree with Linda on the way the story seems to be written that Dean wasn't there for Sam. I don't like that writing, it doesn't fit for me. I mean shouldn't we get more upset with his dad who leaves his young son ALONE in a motel room. Dean is just a kid too, so I don't hold him responsible for that. Sorry, my venom towards John is showing. Anyway, overall, I like this one.

I agree on the Dean part. Yes, I am a Dean (obsessed) girl too, but I can't see Dean as just not being there for Sam. Nope. Doesn't work for me. John? Yes. But not Dean. I am not an apologist for Dean, he has his shortcomings (very few! just kidding) but he would always be there for Sam. I love my Dean and will fight even the writers over him!

Glad I'm not the only one that finds the Dean part of this episode rings untrue. Like, I'm okay with the idea that this happened, that it took Dean a while to wear John down, and Sam was left alone - thus needing Sully. I'm not okay that the show acts like it's really something Dean should have felt bad about. Maybe I'm misinterpreting their intentions. But that's the feeling I get. 🤷‍♀️

The ending of that episode doesnt really sit well with me. All hugs and kisses and smiling and waving as they drive away? She killed 2 people and tried to kill a third, kidnapped 1 person also.

I know, it seems very disjointed from the rest of the episode. I'm not saying what she did was right, but i always have to remind myself why they don't call the cops. But there should have been some other kind of ending of that part.

I see what you mean yes definitely!
