So here's the reveal! I didn't want to drag this little intrigue subplot any further, since it has served its narrative purpose (adding a little insult to injury to Miles' situation via dramatic irony), and now the knowledge that Miles lost his job can be used to raise the stakes of the upcoming dinner, not just for Miles but for Boomer as well.

I'm very happy with the expressions on this page! Boomer's especially, swinging from accusatory to shocked to regretful as he backs down from the argument. Once again, my intent with these two pages is to show Boomer being firm but not mean to Miles, so the lack of exclamation points for all of his dialogue is very deliberate, I don't want it to come across as him raising his voice.

Also, yes. The balls will stay on the rearview mirror the whole conversation.

Balls... wait til Xavier gets a look at the car.

Your expressions have always been pretty good. And the lack of exclamation points is a good touch. Honestly, this whole interaction is a nice way of seeing two people’s different insecurities clashing, a reminder that we all have anxieties or bad experience that drive our current current decision.

"I was married with a kid and then my wife cheated" is a pretty good reason to communicate "I don't like secrets", which he says he did.

prediction: Boomer had more notice to prepare for this day, and dressed to impress. Xavier has fantasized about this day in a classist fetish way, and will be dressed down at least two notches compared to the last dinner. Could be very wrong, just fun to guess.
