So Zoomer's shirt was essentially a set up for this joke.

I asked on Twitter a couple months ago what kind of anime kids are into to put it on Zoomer's shirt and easily 80% of you fuckers misunderstood the assignment and I'm still getting anime recommendations in my mentions to this day, so that was a terrible idea.

Also I'm pretty sure Saint Seiya is only popular with Miles' age group in, like, Japan and Latin America I think? Anime is gay and I don't particularly care for accuracy, but that and DBZ are what come up when I think of what 30 something year olds grew up watching.

I feel like DBZ/Inuyasha were the things that were always on Cartoon Network's Toonami late nights while geriatric millenials were finishing high school and college. So they're more 40-something animes. Bleach/Naruto/One-Piece/Dragon-Ball GT would have been the "new" anime's hopping the pond when 30-somethings were finding time and their own tvs they could control/watch, but DBZ/Etc were still around and popular and easy to find. Either way, the thing Nanoff nailed with this comic is that Miles fell FLAT on his FACE when trying to relate to a grumpy Zoomer. Zoomer wouldn't have been happy if Miles knew exactly which Amine his shirt was referencing. Zoomer is pissed (presumably) because some random himbo tiger is smacking his dad's ass in the grocery store. Gen-Z/Zoomers often get yelled-at for when they are overfamiliar and playfully rude so Zoomer's not gonna let Miles off the hook without making him squirm.

I'm French and 37 and I clearly remember Saint Seiya on TV when I was a child ("Les chevaliers du zodia-a-queuh🎶"), but maybe it was bigger for people who are in their early forties now
