Today was a bad day. After sitting almost 4 hours staring on my animation-software with practicly no result, I have to admit to myself: The creativity didn't return as I hoped.

Neither the work on my Uncharted-movie, nor on one of your suggestions or Corruption-3-test-animations gave me back the old fire.  I can't help it, but it seems like I am more stressed out, than I thought.

When I am at the office, I can't think of anything else than to work on the above projects, but when I am at home, there is just emptiness...

I am pretty sure, the main reason is my RL-job, which is killing me since several months now. But I am just not ready to quit it. I fear, my creativity might still won't return after quitting my job. And then I wouldn't have a regular job nor earned pledges. This is a risk, I am not willing to take...at least not yet.

So I decided to pause again and this time without a date of return.  I just have to wait till things get better. This means, I take a break for maybe only a few weeks, maybe several months, maybe I will quit this work completely. I really don't know. This is not an easy decision, since it is economically the most dumpest one, I could possibly make. "Miranda in Charge" gave me a ton of new supporters (can't thank you enough) and you never know, how long Patreon or Tumblr will still accept NSFW-Content. So with this decision I'll throw away a lot of money, maybe my complete future in this scene, but forcing myself to proceed just didn't work. Believe me, I tried.

I will pause Patreon, so you won't have any costs with being my patron. But I totally understand, if you want to leave me, after I almost didn't deliver anything the past two months and probably will stay silent for a long time from today on.

We had a great time together and I hope, I will get back on the track, so we could continue the journey.

Greetings Desire

jgray

that sucks but take your time man we can wait till you have the spark back your stuff is grade A and worth the wait

KronikMathsDebater

Thats sucks man. Does your job really worth getting stressed for months? Find yourself a new side hobby (read, game, cook, exercise or whatever). It can help you relax.

Expect_no_Mercy

Sigh... Found you only 2 weeks ago, and started to follow. This has to be disheartening for you, and I hope you don't let your talents just slip by the wayside. Then again, I have supported many artists that feel very close to the same. I always encourage them to pause and recollect themselves. When your art shifts from a 'love' to an 'obligation', stuff like this can happen. In the end we (you and us alike) all loose. Take that time to find the fun again, and please come back when you do. Life is too short for stress.

This is really a bad news I hope you will get better in the coming days and find a suitable job Do not give up in one job you can find the best I wish you a better life and come back to work in patreon again If you really want to dispense with patreon I hope you will tell us But this will be disappointing good luck

SomeNerdyGentleman

It was a very good time indeed. I always looked up to your art and admired it. Not only because of your high level of skill, but also because of your motivation for creating such special works. You were and probably will be always one of the very top artists of the SFM community. I thank you very much for everything you did for all of us and hope that your life will get better ASAP as well as your creativity coming back in time. I wish you the very best. Greetings, SNG

I support what the others said. Take your time, try to enjoy life on other fronts and hopefully you find a less stressful job. When your spark will (hopefully) reignite, we'll be waiting. I'm a bit sad there's the possibility we will never see another Corruption of the Lodge scene but I understand your situation completely. I hope you'll end up in a situation you'll be happy and less stressful again soon, life is too short.

Patreon can be alot of pressure, just relax, take a break, enjoy other people's works and I assure you the inspiration will come back to you. As much as I want to see a sequel to Miranda in Charge I understand how artist's block feels like, and that it's pointless to insist while in that state, it's like punching a brick wall. Just do whatever feels natural now.

Hope you can find a better job than the one you practise right now. If it does you more harm than good then it definitely isn't worth keeping it in my opinion. Focus on this first, maybe try talking to your boss about your current mental health and ask for a timeout/change of work conditions for the time being (assuming you want to keep your job and fear the risk of changing it), look for a therapist (forget the clichés they are there to help you and really did for me in the past), find a hobby that helps you to relax [walking, running, meditation, yoga, the sauna (I personally do that regularly and the change of extreme heat and cold really helps a lot to calm down no matter how stressed I was before) ] . It would be a damn shame should you decide to leave Patreon for good since you're such an incredibly talented animator but moving your life on the right path is and will always be way more important than that. Until that happens myself and I'm sure most of the other Patrons will still be here and accept whatever future decision regarding the platform you want to make ;-) .

Don't worry about it, after the epic that was Miranda In Charge, you deserve a good long break. Get out on the rule34 sites, see what's up there and maybe you'll get inspired again

Choppytehbear

Take as long as you need. If you decide that this is over, it's been fun.

please take as long as you need. Your work is amazing and I hope we haven't seen the last!

I feel you. Long work hours that follow you home, high stress that lasts for endless-months, and few decompression opportunities that cause poor sleep, questionable diet, and a loss of motivation to break the cycle. It's all one big nasty feedback loop. I guess one good thing about loops is that all it takes is to break one part of it and it temporarily falls apart. I'm trying to figure out how to keep the thing from forming back up and starting all over again -.- zzzzzz
