Obviously I normally like to highlight #creative content based on our show every week, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to spotlight this one delightful little piece done by theCoastalCity. It's inspired by the art of James Turner, who happens to be the co-director of the upcoming game The Plucky Squire! And now I can imagine our little blue Kirby plopped right into that game too...

Alright, so what happened this past week in Back Pocket land? A little bit, so let's get into it.

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

Back Pocket: Tiers of the Kingdom
Another tier list divided the Back Pocket community this week, as the team ranked all the first party Nintendo Switch exclusives. And when I say divided the community, I also mean me. For unrelated reasons, Steph is now my favourite co-worker and my best friend, and the rest are dead to me. Backing up to the Back Up, we went through all the news from Mario Day, and in What We've Been Playing, Steph gave us the latest update on her Red Dead RP adventure. Ruby and Pete also gave us their thoughts on some early looks at Princess Peach: Showtime! and Rise of the Ronin respectively, and Gus told us all about his adventures on Arrakis in the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator crossover. And finally, A Piece of HistorMe returned, as everyone took a look back at Crystal Caves.

PocketBuds: Let's Talk About Gex, Baby
Gex! It's a Gex special! Well, not 100% exactly, but mostly! Ruby sat down with the ultimate Gexhead herself, Izzy Kestrel, to talk all about video game mascots, and particularly that one lizard one. Because there's no other significant, well known video game mascots, right? And if there were, our bonus episode for the week wouldn't also be about how one would react if said mascots were hitting you with their car. This isn't getting confusing, is it?

This one's nice and easy - our guest on both PocketBuds AND the main show this week is none other than minimme! He's a YouTuber most well known for shedding light on some of the more obscure games out there, so expect some weird deep cuts. And for our Game Night this week, it's Gus' turn on the controls, and maybe he'll be fishing?

I can't believe there's another giant release this week, with Dragon's Dogma 2. Capcom please, I only just got to the Golden Saucer in FF7 Rebirth! Why must they do this, I need to make sure my date goes well and I win all the minigames - I can't have my focus split on medieval monster hunting too. But seriously, games are freaking cool and we've been spoilt for choice for the start of this year so far. I hope you've found something to sink your teeth into just as I have!
