The Back Log, vol. 42 - Who's That Pokemon? (Patreon)

It's the Slaydies!

Ok, I promise next week we'll pick someone else's #creative piece. But Dolphinpants delivered yet another banger here, and I couldn't not share it with y'all. The Slaydies are my new favourite Pokemon card, and I want a shiny!

We're gonna jump into the past week in a second, but one of the big things you may have noticed is of course that Playbacks ARE BACK! That's right, our weekly schedule has aligned to the point where we feel confident to finally bring back these fan-favourite episodes, and we're super excited to evolve them even further. At the moment, our plan is to release a new episode every fortnight, with Gold Pocket patrons getting access to a bonus unedited, full record of each episode, before the edited version is even out! And just like our other Gold Pocket offerings, these will become available to you Silver Pocket peeps at the end of every month as well.

We'll of course let you know if any of these plans change, but for now, we just hope you're excited for their return, because we sure as hell are.

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

Back Pocket: Slaydies Night 2!
The Slaydies are back, and this time Ruby and Steph were joined by the fantastic NatTea, and the also returning Chloe Appleby, equally famous for being Ruby's bestie, loving Pokemon a slightly scary amount, and being a curator at Powerhouse Sydney! And to fit the Slaydies theme, we also got to have an amazing interview with two Polish women who developed the upcoming Tell Me Your Story. Ruby also talked about this game's demo in What We've Been Playing , while the rest of the ladies went over Backpack Battles, Harold Halibut and, yes, more Red Dead RP stories from Steph! Then, after a Slaydies themed edition of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, the girls rounded out the show with a tier list of a ton of women-led video games!

PocketBuds: GDC Edition
For all of y'all who always wanted to go to GDC or know exactly what goes on there, this week's PocketBuds ep is for you! Ruby was joined by Jojo Zhou, who worked on Cult of the Lamb for Massive Monster, and who recently had the opportunity to head over to the big event in San Francisco! And then in the bonus episode, we have yet another Chloe Appleby cameo, as she tells Ruby about her own crazy GDC story.

Phew, it's been a big week for me so I'll keep this short. Most of all, I'm still just jazzed Playbacks are back, and it was so cool to hang out with a bunch of you in the YT Premiere last week! Here's to many more of those, and once again a big thank you for being one of the best communities out there, from the bottom of the heart of one very proud community manager.
