The Back Log, vol. 54 - He's Not Like Other Girls (Patreon)

He's Peter Burns!

It's been a while since we've had a 4th Reaper photoshop in The Back Log, and those of you privy to the #creative channel know that I could've picked one that was far less... appropriate, but this one still gave me a good chuckle.

Only piece of housekeeping this week is a reminder to Merch Pocket patrons from the past few months to fill out your shirt sizing form for the Slaydies shirt, as I'll be sending those out this week!

LAST WEEK ON BACK POCKET

Back Pocket Tonight ft. Mustard and Nicro
Our best friend/Pocket Pals host/guest/cool person Nicrotex returned! But before he got to tell us about his truly bizarre AR experience in Lennox Mutual, we had the pleasure of interviewing Ben Schuster of local VR studio Toast Interactive about their latest game Max Mustard. It was a pretty juicy What We've Been Playing as well, with Nick's aforementioned AR travails complemented by some Zenless Zone Zero, Marvel Rivals and Deadlink chat. Then, we put on our Olympic rings and jumped into the best of all the Olympic-adjacent games, Mario & Sonic, before wrapping the show with a remix of one of Nicrotex's Pocket Pals games, Screenshot in the Dark!

PocketBuds: Crushing It
In yet another one of those fabulous PocketBuds episodes involving a dev interview, Ruby was able to sit down to chat to Nicole He about her work on the truly intriguing reality-show/thirst-person-shooter game Crush House, which is coming out very soon! And in an absolute banger of a bonus ep, Ruby and Nicole ran through which reality show stars they think would survive in the messed up world of Crush House.

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

I cannot tell you how excited Josh is to be playing Zenless Zone Zero live for you all this afternoon in our Game Night stream. Like, it's wonderful. So please enjoy his gacha endeavours alongside him, and try to stop him from buying too many new characters.

Looking at the rest of the week, we still have our latest Playback to come this week, after having to push it slightly from last week. But for Gold(en) Pocket peeps, you can watch the full record already!

And for our Thursday show, we have Ben Armstrong of Awesome Black joining us in the studio - you may remember him from our Powerhouse stream, but now he's coming onto the main show itself! Then rounding it all out, Ruby will be talking to games PR aficionado Jim Barker about the nightmare scape that is the industry's PR scene.

Merry Monday, everyone. I hope you had a restful weekend, played a few games, and maybe watched some cool shit! I can personally highly recommend the new animated series Batman: Caped Crusader - for all you classic animation lovers, it will be right up your (crime) alley...
