The Back Log, vol. 57 - Jack of All Pockets (Patreon)

Who's that Bearded White Man? It's Jackson Ryan!

Welcome back to The Back Log - the last one for the month of August! Time flies when you're watching Back Pocket, and we ain't stopping, so we hope you continue to ride along with us on our many journeys.

Speaking of journeys...

LAST WEEK ON BACK POCKET

Back Pocket Tonight feat. Jackson Ryan
Games come and go, as does Gamescom! So we enlisted the help of an actual real journalist, Jackson Ryan, to help us break down all the news from the annual German gaming expo. But before all that, we had our usual Back Pocket action to get through, including a chonky What We've Been Playing with some new releases including Concord, Black Myth Wukong, Fields of Mistria and Feed the Deep. We also played a few rounds of Gartic Phone, and at the top of the show, had a very cool interview with Nadia Thorne of Black Salt Games about their latest DLC release for Dredge!

It's been a little while since Steph's been on some Back Pocket content, as she's taking a well deserved break, but excitingly she was able to chat to Ruby for this week's episode of PocketBuds! If you've followed the show for the past year or so (or Steph's own Twitch), you'll be very aware of her journey in Red Dead Redemption 2's WildRP server. So it seemed about time for Ruby and her to have a chat all about what that journey's been like!

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

A bunch of super cool stuff is coming to your eyeballs and ear holes this week!

For our Monday night stream, Ruby is exercising her beefy dress up game muscles in Dress To Impress.

On Thursday night, we'll be joined in the studio by friend of the show, archaeologist and Lord of the Rings superfan Peyton Kilgower, as we all gear up for the new season of Rings of Power!

And in PocketBuds land, on Friday you'll hear Ruby's chat with Alec Robbins, artist at Squanch Games, all about what it's like making the very... particular... kinds of games he does.

But wait - is that a Playback upon the horizon, all the way out West? Mayhaps we should take another journey out there...

Anyone else excited to jump into Star Wars Outlaws later this week? A few of us over here actually already have our little blaster-holding hands on it already, and while I haven't quite managed to get around to it yet, I'm excited to boot it up very, very soon. We'll be sharing our thoughts later in the week, so stay tuned, and start planning your journey to the galaxy far, far away.
