Hey there, and welcome back to your final Back Log for September! Obviously we had some big news drop earlier today, so rather than go into it too much here in the preamble, I'd instead direct you over to Ruby's post regarding the sunsetting of PocketBuds.

We know some of you might have some questions regarding why exactly this is the case, and conveniently (so convenient, in fact, it's almost like we planned it this way) we have our quarterly Patreon Town Hall happening tomorrow night (Oct 1) at 7:30PM AEST. So, we encourage you to send in any questions you might have regarding this news, or anything else you might wanna ask, by heading over to the Google Form in this post. And for those of you who aren't at Gold Pocket tier and won't have access to the Town Hall, we have decided that we'll be cutting out any questions regarding PocketBuds and publishing it separately as an audio recording available to everyone. Gold Pocket members will still get their usual full audio recording later in the week, but we thought it was prudent to have this also, given the nature of the news and not wanting to lock that specifically behind a pay wall.

The return of the great Harry Jun, our friend from over at ABC Gamer and professional funny person a.k.a. comedian, was not exaggerated. And he managed to drag a Will onto the couch with him! And with a big week of video game news around Tokyo Game Show, we decided to do a little breakdown of our favourite announcements from Sony's latest State of Play. Then, What We've Been Playing featured chats about Epic Mickey Rebrushed, Helldivers 2, I Am Your Beast and a superbly edited Top Gear-style mini review of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown from our resident TG-nerd-in-mourning, William. Pocketry for Neanderthals also made its comeback, to great success and many a laugh, and then we wrapped up the show by returning to check out some new minigames from the locally made Which Way Up: Galaxy Games.

PocketBuds: But Played With An Actual Pocket

As I write this, I see Josh playing Balatro again for Game Night, but this time, it's been on two different screens! It'll be a good chill one to catch on VOD for sure.

On Thursday, it's very very cool to say that we have Montaigne coming back on the show once again, after their first appearance as Zelda last year!

And then on PocketBuds, Ruby had a chat with Jenny Windom about what it takes to put on a video games showcase.
