The Back Log, vol. 62 - Merry Halloween to All! (Patreon)

And to all a good fright!

It's the absolute spookiest week of the year (and generally either people's favourite, or least favourite, holiday to celebrate), but that also means the month of October is coming to an end, and with it, our latest batch of Patreon merch! If you're not already at our Merch Pocket tier, you have until this Thursday, October 31 (the spooky day in question) to join and earn your first month of three to qualify you for this wonderful 'Back Pocket studio' design on a t-shirt. Don't miss this one, folks - you'll make the lil Pockety in the middle of the chairs sad. And you wouldn't wanna do that...

Alright, enough emotional blackmail! It's time for your (mostly) weekly Back Pocket catch up!

Back Pocket Tonight: Double Trouble
Yours truly was away on holiday last Monday, hence the lack of one of these, which means there's two episodes for me to tell you about here. The first, from two Thursdays ago, featured the wonderful Kelsey Gamble, studio manager at New Blood Interactive, and included a lil Steam Deck show and tell, another edition of Celebrity Headjobs and a Very Good Gameplay of the brand new Super Mario Party Jamboree! And then last Thursday, our friend Minimme returned to the couch as we broke down the latest Xbox Partner Preview, once again Avoided the DMCA and went Back in Jack for their latest new minigame, Survey Scramble! Plus, two weeks of Back Pocket means two weeks of What We've Been Playing, so here's all the games we covered in those: a preview of Lego Horizon Adventures, Steam Next Fest demos of Is This Game Trying To Kill Me and Little Big Adventure - Twinsen's Quest, The Longest Journey, Mouthwashing, Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, Metaphor ReFantazio, AND, the one you've all been waiting for - 420BLAZEIT 2: GAME OF THE YEAR -=Dank Dreams and Goated Memes=- [#wow/11 Like and Subscribe] Poggerz Edition. Yes, that's its full Steam name...

PocketBuds: The Finale
Vale, PocketBuds! I won't ramble on too much here (other than to say once again how proud I am of Ruby for the podcast she has built) because the final episode I think speaks for itself. And it also includes so many of your wonderful contributions! Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping make Pocket Buds what it was. And a reminder, the archive won't be going anywhere!

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

Despite it being spooky week, we have decided to keep things decided unspooky in the Back Pocket world. That's why Pete will be streaming the famously not-spooky Alan Wake 2's latest DLC, the also-not-spookily-titled Lakehouse.

And our episode this week, featuring Heather Riley of music duo Cry Club, will also not be spooky at all. Not one bit. I'm sure no-one at all will show up in costume. No, that would never happen...

This past weekend I finally earned my Gamer™️ card by completing my first Call of Duty campaign. And... I had a surprising amount of fun? Unexpected, I know, but sometimes life throws those curveballs at you. So this week, give that curveball game of yours a play. Maybe it'll surprise you!
