The Back Log, vol. 63 - All Saddled Up (Patreon)

And ready to challenge those times!

Hey friends! It's been another couple of weeks since the last one of these, owing to a bit of an unusual week on my end last week, but it's good to be back chatting to you once again. And in the spirit of last week's Challenging Times segment, we have a trip down the 2000s nostalgia lane from Dolphinpants, featuring our glorious hosts as the four (yes, four) members of The Saddle Club you know and love.

The only piece of housekeeping this week is to remind Merch Pocket patrons to please check your Patreon messages. In there you'll find a link to claim your latest piece of merch, and this will be our delivery system going forward. So make sure to check your inbox every few months to avoid even longer waits!

Anyway, time to get to it.

PREVIOUSLY ON BACK POCKET

Back Pocket Tonight: It Takes Two (More Episodes)
Two more episodes means two more guests that joined us in recent weeks: first up was Heather Riley, one half of queer music duo Cry Club! In a particularly spooky edition of the show, we covered the latest indie horror games showcase and some of our highlights from it, brought back the ever hilarious What The Fuck Did You Just Say To Me, and jumped into some ghostbusting-ly chaotic couch co-op in Spook-A-Boo. Plus, we had a mostly spooky What We've Been Playing, featuring Pathologic 2, Alan Wake 2's Lakehouse DLC, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and, the spookiest of them all, Sonic x Shadow Generations.

Then, last Thursday we were joined by Junkee's Lia Kim, for a less spooky but still wonderful episode of Back Pocket. It was even more wonderful due to the fact that we were able to interview Rose & Evan from Tempo Lab Games about their upcoming rhythmic release Bits & Bops! We also had a horse around in Challenging Times, this time taking on the horse race in the latest Zelda game, Echoes of Wisdom. Pocktionary also made its return, and it was another jam-packed What We've Been Playing, featuring the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, early access for Sulfur, Nine Sols and Lockdown Protocol.

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

For tonight's stream, Gus will be jumping into a game series that's just as old as he is, Metal Slug Tactics! No-one tell Gus I wrote that, ok?

Then on Thursday night, our friend and developer currently working on Mystiques, Ally McLean Hennessy, will be back for a second appearance on our weekly show. And maybe we'll even have a cheeky new segment to debut?

And keep an eye out for a particularly draconic Playback dropping at some point this week...

---

Well, nothing substantial happened in the last two weeks, right? Nope, just business as usual. Out of sight, out of mind, out of sight, out of mind--

Oops, sorry! Don't know what came over me there. Time to go back to Dragon Age: Inquisition for me, having fallen deep into the Bioware hole in the last month...
