my beautiful beautiful beautifuls, it's (belated) back log time!!!

PREVIOUSLY ON BACK POCKET

BACK POCKET TONIGHT - WE REAPZED WHAT WE SOWED
we had the lovely REAPZ join us on the show to talk about the hot new entry in the DOOMiverse, DOOM: The Dark Ages! Gus also snorted in glee about The Precinct, Pete discussed his love for Pot Boy in The Midnight Walk, and I talked about the goofy goodness of Revenge of the Savage Planet.

we also talked about EB Games' new borrowed-from-Disneyland business strategy to monetise midnight launches, figured out who the hell Pepe Silvia was in The Da Video Game Code, and used our words too in Use Your Words 2. check it out!

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

you already know what it is...

it's T10NAT time!!!!

~~

as for me, it's been a bit of a busy one!!! i'm still getting used to being back on my ADHD medication regularly (went off it for about 4 or so weeks because i could get an earlier appointment with my psych), so my brain is playing catch up a bit. it hasn't helped that there's been lots to do inside and outside of work (with some of that stuff i actually can't talk about publicly yet LOL)!! so in regards to the lateness of the back log this week, i'm so sorry!! but also, better late than never right??

i actually just FINISHED Revenge of the Savage Planet, and really enjoyed the vast majority of it but found that there was a pretty steep dip in performance towards the end of the game which made the final boss battle a bit of a struggle!! in my opinion, it's a really awesome game with great design and great writing, but is held back by performance issues that can hopefully be ironed out over time. it also ended with a loving tribute to Adrian Burhop, who played CEO Martin Tweed in both Savage Planet games and sadly passed away at the end of 2023 in a skiing accident. i didn't even know he had passed, so it made finishing the game bittersweet.

you'll hear me talk about the Shroom & Gloom demo tonight on the show, but i actually just started playing Wanderstop last night after friend of the show Tom Walker kept insisting that i play it. i hate to say it (i actually don't), but that boy was right. i played for almost 4 hours straight last night, cried, laughed out loud, and had a pretty surprising moment of self reflection on the process of playing. it's kinda crazy to realise just how much you fall into unhealthy habits that lead to complete burnout through a video game. HAHA!

anywho, thanks for waiting, hope you enjoy the show tonight, and i'll see ya soon. mwah!

much love,
roooooooooby
