The Back Log, vol. 14 - It's Krungo's World, We're Just Living In It (Patreon)

Bow down to Krungo.

This week's Back Log is brought to you by.... *checks notes*... rubeemo from the #creative channel in the Discord. Well, it's nice to have some new contributors to this section of The Back Log. Let's hope they stick around for a while! Because frankly, their rendition of Krungo, yet another obscure reference to our Thursday night show this week, is a thing of both dreams and nightmares...

Anyway, no massive Patreon changes to share this week, nor any sneaky dates to tease (except a reminder to keep open September 2nd), so let's just straight into the Content™️...

THIS WEEK ON BACK POCKET

BAJO Pocket Tonight
Well, it finally happened! We finally managed to wrangle ol' mate Bajo into our studio after three whole years of making this show, and boy oh boy was it an absolute joy to see him back on the couch, next to his friends. And of course, we couldn't have him around without getting him to do a little bit of cheeky green screen content, as we brought back our Celebrity 'Bodies' segment, which is essentially just reverse Celebrity Heads but also funnier. Plus, we got to witness one of his marvelous video game character creations live on the couch with us, and then made them fight each other in Street Fighter 6! And of course, it's not a Back Pocket show without What We've Been Playing, which this week included gorgeous indie Venba, the latest Telltale adventure in The Expanse, AI detective game Vaudeville and some more Diablo IV chat!

Pocket Buds feat Thumb Cramps
Our second episode of Pocket Buds went live this past Friday, in which Ruby talks to her buds from the Thumb Cramps podcast, Joel Duscher and Jackson Baly, about what exactly happened to the mysterious bob's game... it's a fascinating listen, so go do exactly that! Give it a listen! And it's now also on Google Podcasts!

Socials - A Trip to Baldur's Gate
It's been a Baldur's Gate 3 kinda week on socials, with both a dedicated sexy character creation vid from Steph, and a big focus in The Game Plan, but that's not all we had on offer this week. Peter did a deep-dive into the weird release history of the Pokemon Stadium games, Ruby took a look at some of the craziest Soulcalibur crossover characters, and Will did a special cut together of our favourite moments from the last week's Pete's Party Time.

NEXT WEEK ON BACK POCKET

It's been a little while since we've gotten the lovely Nicrotex in for an episode of Back Pocket, so we thought, why not bring him back in this week! The chaotic energy of him and Ruby together may make our studio explode, however, so definitely don't miss this one...

And on the podcast, we have Levins returning to Back Pocket content after his appearance on Back Pocket Tonight last month! And this one is especially exciting for both him and Ruby, as they get to dive deep into their most anticipated game of the year, Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

My entire friends list on Steam (myself included) has been deep in the realms of Baldur's Gate 3 this weekend, and can I just tell you, this game is truly a special one. You can spend hours in character creation alone (we even made a TikTok out of it), but once that world opens up... it's just something else. Can you tell I wanna go back to playing it right now? No? Well, I do. So that's all from me for this week! See you next weekend for another Back Log <3
