Oh...the pool arc...

You know, I don't want to be negative about my comic work. One the one side I don't want that people think I'm fishing for compliments, I don't want to sound whiny and I don't want to ruin peoples enjoyment...but this arc...really caused me some serious hardship .___."

First of all, I drew this arc last December and although I liked the idea of a 'second childhood' (!SPOILER! and Sedine covered in mud scaring people !SPOILER!) I couldn't convince myself that it was a good arc. However, somehow with lotsa moaning and complaining I got it done, mostly thanks to my husband's support <3

But the arc was still kinda meh to me.

However, the nerv wrecking started once the strip started on GoComic and when I got a lot of criticism that Sedine was too wild, too psycho, too screechy and so far. Somehow I knew that if people dislike her wild and playful behavior in those early strips...they'll get really angry when it comes to the pool where she's not only playfull and wild...but and fully grown brat.

The closer it got to the pool, the more nervous I got. I was even asking my husband if we could just replace and scrap that arc entirely. I was so willing to have two blank weeks rather than two weeks with people complaining and ranting at this comic (and essential at me) 0__0'

In the end the arc stayed and...to my surprise people were rather positive about Sedine's brattiness. Granted, the worst of her is yet to come. But still .___.'

Anyway, that's what I have to say about this arc...overthinking at it's finest I guess...^^"

Just because I wouldn't want to be married to Sedine doesn't mean I don't enjoy her antics. I'm sure most women would not want to be married to Dagwood but he's still one of the most popular characters in comics. Don't ever tone her down just have her do something sweet and cute every so often and you have done that, so you're right on track. Please don't change my favorite lady in comic strips. Best, Nick

Like I have said before: you are your own worst critic. But I admit, Sedine's childhood must have some wild--and interesting--backstory.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Nick. :) I wasn't referring to your comment about not wanting to marry her, after all you are quite positive about her overall. So I'm not upset or anything :) Well, I don't plan to tone her done (I just try to get her less bitchy or angry tho) I'm really happy that so far the reactions are quite positive and the readers have fun with the situation rather than complain about it. I was really preparing for the worst ^^" (although there are still four more strips to come 0A0)

I know and I'm quite ashamed of it ;^; I mean, if I could change that I would...but who knows if the quality of the artwork would suffer if I have that kind of attitude change ^^" Anyway, thank you for the comment. I don't think I get really into Sedine's childhood too soon. But I do hope that the parents will give the readers some idea why she's like that :> If not, a proper flashback will definitely follow eventually ^^
