I live in Yokosuka, Japan. The U.S. Embassy in Tokyo is warning visitors to be cautious of wild bears roaming around certain areas. Not here, we're on the East coast. They're mostly in the northern regions and on the West coast, the colder areas. They've crashed through glass doors and have attacked several people, killing several. The police and licensed hunters have been authorized to "cull" the bears. The military can help capture them but can't shoot them. the government is concerned about the discharge of firearms in populated areas.

But sure, come on over. New Years is a great time to visit. If you visit a Buddhist temple at New Years and hear the huge bell struck 108 times, all the sins you've committed (not that you did of course) during the year, will be expunged. 😄

Haven’t been to Japan. My concern is the language barrier and are Americans welcomed as tourist. Finally the plane ride must be a bear.
