Grow it out!!! (Patreon)

Throw back Thursday, both sketches were already published a couple years ago :P

The idea of Roy not liking haircuts was one of the first ones I had in mind for him. Although the idea with the tortured childhood thanks to a horrible bowl cut was added way later.

Originally I just thought of him simply not liking the jobs most hairdresser do on him therefore he stopped going and let his hair grow out (a relatable problem since I remember only one hairdresse who was really good cutting my hair...and he closed up back in 2007 v_V)

Charlene on the other side, who comes from a strict family, couldn't introduce a boyfriend who looks like that. Therefore she had to groom him a bit. I also thought that she also dictates his wardrobe all together (mean, originally I wanted him to prance around in a Canadian tuxedo and cowboy boots while Charlene always forces him to wear a proper suit. In the final comic it was changed into him just having an interesting fashion taste...you'll find out from whom he got that from ;)

Sometimes I regret that these characteristics I had in the originals were changed and some even dropped. But then again, the original idea was more a drama...while the final comic is supposed to be a ridiculous silly comedy. So...there you go :)
