Extra pin: Three wishes (Patreon)

And here she, the replacement for this month’s Sunday :)

not sure if an illustration is equal to a comic. But I hope you enjoy her anyway ^^

Originally I had a fortune teller in mind, holding a crystal ball. Also the motive was layed out mirrored. But I thought she would look too similar to the Ellie magician illustration I showed a while back. So I mirrored her and added more BG details...well, eventually the BG and her outfit looked more orientalist. So I made changes and turned her into a Genie instead.

biggest challenge was the color choice. Originally I had a pink Genie outfit in front of a yellow/orange curtain in mind. But somehow she always blurred together with the BG. So I settled for a blue outfit....which kinda clashed with the yellow curtains for some reason. Arg!

So purple with yellow/golden accents had to do it. You won’t believe how often I ended up tweaking the colors :/

I also wanted to paint more rather than using cell shading....well, the only thing I painted are the curtains and the veils and see-through pants. ^^” Although I think it looks good with the mix of coloring techniques. So I’m happy overall.

hardly any brushes were used, only for the curtains and the palm trees. But Seine is completely from scratch. Yosh!!!

All together it was lotsa fun drawing her, although I had my issues while drawing. But I like the result a lot and hope you enjoy it too.

the PSD will be available later today :)

have a great Sunday and thanks for your support :)
