Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, and the Appeal of the Low Stakes Social RPG

Moon Channel; Episode 1 - The Low Stakes Social RPG In this first ever episode of Moon Channel, we explore the humble roots of the Social RPG genre, and look to understand the reasons why the genre seems to resonate with so many people. --- Aloha – my moniker is Moony, thank you for tuning in to Moon Channel. It is my goal to bring you informative, interesting, and wholesome content, in a family friendly manner. By trade, I'm an attorney. I work in immigration law by day; a very stressful, high-stakes field. Before I started Moon Channel, often when I'd get home from a exhausting day at court, I'd turn on some nice, relaxing music, and maybe put-on a video essay to unwind. There were some days though where I wished there could be a channel that was just a little more serious in its tone, without being anxiety inducing; something a little more mature, without being condescending, or boring. Moon Channel is my vision, brought to you. And it's my hope that you will get a little joy, and find a little peace, in the videos I bring to you. Thank you for tuning in. It means a lot to me. And I hope, my videos can mean a lot, to you. --- Special Thanks to all the wonderful musical artists featured on this episode.
