Hey everyone!

I have just finished the section I'm working on at the moment, which continues events aboard Larn'kelnar's ship. It comes in at roughly 20.5k words and I've handed that part over to my editors while I work on the last part.

As I mentioned in an earlier comment, I'm going to make chapter 121 a double-sized chapter to wrap up the loose ends from the cliffhanger in one go. The second half of chapter 121 that I'm working on at the moment will be approximately 30k words, bringing it up to ~60k words total. I'm aiming to finish the whole thing by the 10th May.

There are a lot of important scenes in this chapter, so it's taken a lot longer to write than normal as I've reread them multiple times to make sure I'm happy with the dialogue etc. Hopefully there won't be too many errors for the editors to find! :-)

Perfection is worth the wait.

I got a rush when I saw the icon on my phone... hopes dashed lol

If you need another prereader I volunteer for tribute

He's alive!!! praise be unto the flying spaghetti monster and his noodly appendage.

So wait does this mean the chapter 121 is the end of the first part of the TSM universe (until you decide to begin the sequel)? Or are you referring to this chapter as the conclusion to the big climax that was the last chapter? Also, very much appreciate the update Tef, hope you had some chance to rest between the last chapter and this one.

commatoes

Like I was when I was six years old, only three more sleeps until I get my present. Unfortunately, there is no possibility of peeking.

Cignal

Thanks for the update Tefler.

GrandPaM

(allows his F5 key to cool....)

Evan

Thank you, Tefler. I’ll look again in a few days. :-)

GrandPaM

(re-reads the previous post from Tefler)... Now just hold on a second here! We may have to SUE Tefler for FALSE ADVERTIZING! He claimed the previous post that he'd "finished the chapter!" ...and now we are still waiting for Chapter 121 - Part II!!???? WTF!?? (the above is written very tongue-in-cheek, btw)

Aurora Musis Amica

So... did anyone kinda freak out when you saw "the conclusion"? Like Tefler saw this as the actual last part of TSM. *nervous laughter*

Arrowglass

Thanks so much for the update "fix" for us "addicts"...and for putting up with our impatience!!!!

John P

So did the "Conclusion" part refer to this arc? Or to TSM? Because you've wrapped up the main conflict pretty fast - too fast, frankly, given how much buildup we had. It's not that he wasn't sufficiently evil or powerful, it's that they really did just get the upper hand on him in the span of like an hour. It's a good marker for how far they've come, but it's not the most satisfying ending for the Big Bad, especially since it was their first face-to-face.

Philip Hannum

So happy to hear your getting things wrapped up. I cannot wait!

Taco1085

thank you for the update...

Dave Barrack

Thanks for the update. As someone who had dabbled in prose a bit, the hardest part for me when writing is not getting stuck rereading all the stuff I've already written. I've gotten 70K words into a novel of my own, and the longer it gets, the slower I write. :/

Braw

cheers mister

TF4EVA

a step closer. Tying up events on the black ship must be about the mum and maybe dad mtg, dana running thru the daffodils as she absorbs all, alyssa picking up Larns scptre or similar, the reconnection and modification to the raptor and invictus, Rill rediscovering secrets to help Faye and grow her interface with the net, the PJ and John confrontation... but what will the cliff hanger be. There will be one!!!! Can't wait

Carl Doerter

Well, ok our friend. Wrap up the cliff hanger, and then KEEP GOING. Sorry, I just so damn addicted to this "well woven yarn" I will hate to see it concluded!

Dave Barrack

To be clear, it's the conclusion of chapter 121, not the conclusion of the story, right? I could read another 3 million words of this stuff. :)

GrandPaM

@TF4WVA. ...and rememver that the last laugh is on me. Yeah, but how dare you use satire on my uh...ah attempted satire like that.

TF4EVA

with all the discussion of the progenitors i am wondering about the Enshunu connection. It is said this will be explored in the sequel but can't see Tashana without thinking about the Enshunu and their relationship with the progenitors

Elliot Day

Isn't there already a chapter 121? Is this an extension of that or a whole new chapter?

Arakasi

The Conclusion..what do you mean by that? You telling me we don't get a great big space battle to end! I would be extremely disappointed if that is the case!

Bp Hlpt

Geeze, Everybody calm down. The title of Tefler's post would have been better written as - "Status Update - The conclusion of chapter 121" - because that is what he meant.

Evan

Larn’Kelnar was so young... less than 10K years old... and within only a few years (less than that, I believe) of being within this part of space, his Matriarch’s hair had turned white and he had at least started to fall in love. Mael’nerak was much older and in this region of space for tens of thousands of years before he too fell in love with his Matriarch and became even somewhat of a ‘good’ guy. Rahn’agon has been in this region of space for over 10K years. What impact has this had upon him? In each case, after Mael’nerak at least, the Progenitors had been *sent* to this region of space. By whom? For what purpose? With what knowledge? For example, how did Larn’Kelnar know about John before John knew about himself? Larn’Kelnar wasn’t in communication with the Astral beings while in this region of space, or at least, that’s what’s implied, and he’s been here since before John first met Alyssa, so how did he learn of the budding Progenitor whose ship he first saw while in Ashanath space? DId he somehow recognize that John was a Progenitor during that encounter? If so, how?

Tefler responded to Nefler (8th unexpanded post) that it was the Chapter 121 conclusion, not the book conclusion.

2026-09-07 11:00 Even...if your correct in your statement Larn was around 10,000 yrs old , do you think it's a coincidence that was when Mael & or Ranagon or both died ? or possibly a look into the timing of when the Astral Beings bring forth a new Progenitor ?

It's a massive undertaking to write a story of this magnitude. Continuity and explanations alone have to be given their time, especially with the Jedi Master always watching your six. Your fan base craves more, but they can wait for it to be done right and yes, editors need to comb the thing over, at this point that's not your job.

This being a two part climactic point in the story makes it doubly important to get right. These scenes tie off a lot of loose threads in the story and inconsistencies could really hurt the epilogue. I for one, deeply appreciate the time Tefler is taking to ensure his story stays coherent and consistent. Something he has done with this work with an uncanny level of accuracy to this point.

Christo

So true the level of accuracy chapter after chapter is amazing

CJ Mora

He must have one hell of an outline...not just outlining 1 full-sized book, but over a dozen and counting!

TF4EVA

Thanks PLRus. These all go to show how great the TSM saga is and how much we appreciate the story and Tefler as its great creator and grand overlord!! These resources are well worth a visit (again and again) - especially when we are waiting for the next chapter.

Steve

Are we there yet?

jerry661

It has to be the 10th somewhere.

Christo

Lol the 10th 3am in SA

Alphaonetango

I think Tef goes off Eastern Standard US time for his dates. I might be wrong but I think that’s what he does.

TF4EVA

what time is it in terran std time? Will the new ship like the invictus will be syncced to terran std time? Is the release times of each chapter really based in terran std time????

Simorthelast

well the UK is the origin of Greenwich Mean Time (as in Greenwich, England)... so throw in daylight savings time and Tefler is 1 hour ahead of GMT. Its currently about 2 PM in London

Richard

Oh my God, what if he means may 10th 2020?!

Bolon - Telepathic gelatinous species which is actually a colony creature. Bolon are nomadic and solitary creatures as they have so many voices within each colony entity. Bolons change colors based on their emotional state and have the ability to 'taste' and even feed on the emotional states of others. They use humanoid robots as interpreters to communicate with non-telepathic races. Couldn't Dana use bolon technology to have Faye enter into their physic network?

thomas rodrian

Tefler, I think these might be inconsistent. In 79, “Other than her periodic feedings to maintain her youthful vigour, this was yet another startling first. What was going on? He’d never expressed that kind of interest in her before!” In 121, ““Just imagine what it must be like for Ailanthia...” her companion murmured with a wistful smile. “Being his bedmate every night...”“

Lee Sherman

consistent, Larn never expressed emotional or sexual attention/attraction to Ailanthia before ch 79, by ch 121 she was pregnant and returning Larn's attentions then.

Tefler

I've finished the second half. I'm just going to do a bit of editing, then I'll post the chapter in about 30 mins or so.
