Hey everyone!

I've been liaising with Cignal on some blueprints for the new version of the Raptor gunship. He also created the schematics for the old version as well as the Invictus, so I'm sure you're already familiar with his incredible work.

I hope you enjoy checking them out!

Cheers

Always love these add-on goodies. The character drawings, blueprints, etc. especially since personally I’d screw up a stick figure by hand, pen or mouse lol. Looks great btw, maybe it’s time for a new set of Invictus blueprints and some pics of new Lionesses and Mares (tho can just look at the twins I guess there lol)

Thanks very much, Tef! Cignal's excellent drawings along with your descriptions really help me "dot the i's and cross the t's" when reading TSM.

I am very tempted to import these into Blender and have a crack at modelling this.

Thanks, Tefler!

Raptor 2 typo: In the Deck 1 section, the Port Airlock is also marked as the Starboard Airlock.

darn my imagination was nowhere as good as this......

Thanks for this. It’s very useful. A couple of questions about the design, focused on the back. First, is there a specific reason why the engines are not tucked in closer to the fuselage? Second, the rear gun on the top seems to be a bit limited in terms of what it covers. It leaves the rear lower section very exposed. Given Calara’s obsession with 360 degree coverage, would it make sense to put that gun on the bottom of the fuselage and move the other top mounted turret to a more central position from its current position near the cockpit/cathedral roof to cover a wider arc on the topside.

Adam Palmer

Thanks tefler, looks awesome and inspired by the halo pelicans?

I wonder…should the ‘Raptor’ get a new classification now that it’s essentially a different ship on the inside? Like, some kind of variant on the normal Raptor? Think of it like a different load out of weapons on a cruiser, like one designed for artillery as opposed to one designed for beam lasers and the like. Perhaps it could be called the Phoenix variant, after having risen from the ashes to become a ship better suited for a beneficent Progenitor and his lusty crew ;)?

Freakin Amazing !

The Front Elevation view doesn't show both upper spinal turrets, but in the description Dana gives, "Seven total, with all of them able to fire forwards...", so shouldn't all turrets be visible in this view?

Comment: I think it would be great if another gun was added to the bottom of the fuselage, just forward of the rear loading ramp. Just high enough, or retractable, so that it wouldn't scrape on the ground or deck when landed, but just low enough to still be able to fire forward and miss hitting the hull of the ship. As fairly balanced as the gun's coverage currently is, it would be even more so. Instead of: “Seven total, with all of them able to fire forwards, four straight up, three straight down, and five to the rear.” it would be: “Eight total, with all of them able to fire forwards, four straight up, four straight down, six to the rear, and six directly to either side.”

I agree with Brian in that and new name or class for the new Raptor would be fitting. Since the Federation seems to be fixated on Greek mythology I would suggest the "Nemea" or "Nemean" class gunship/dropship. The Nemean lion was a predator the size of a pick-up truck whose hide was impervious to mortal weapons but was only eventually slain by Heracles by strangulation. It's claws were capable of shredding mortal armor and weapons. Does that sound to ostentatious to you guys?

Felipe Andrade

You certainly can fit more power cores and more weapons in there. What’s the purpose of those fat wings?

Would love to build one for my grandkids. Scaled down of course. Don’t think I could do it fast enough though. Hmmmm.
