Patreon PSA About Payment Declines (Patreon)

Hey guys! I just got a note from Patreon informing of an issue they had with patron payments. I'm just going to copy and paste the email in case you guys haven't been notified or have ran into this problem:

An issue with a payment partner is causing a slightly higher-than-normal number of patron payments to be declined by their banks. We've traced the increased declines back to payments system upgrades required by one of our processing partners. Patrons might see some payments declined while changes take effect.

If you have had issues with a declined payment, try these steps:

Contact their card issuer to confirm the charge is valid and retry that card

If the retry does not work, try a different payment method. Patrons can edit their payments in their Settings, under Billing History:

If these problems persist, I suggest you try reaching out to the patreon team as well!
