This is part one of a five-part post about Brutalism. University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth campus by Paul Rudolph. I wonder now if the department store in my hometown of Oradea, Romania is partly in the Brutalist style. It's a well-known local landmark and I associate it with a lot of happy childhood memories, like learning to ride the escalator for the first time. I love it and it feels like home to me but maybe it looks foreboding to strangers: https://images.app.goo.gl/xm3QsUryiRrZLrhh8
