Hi all,

I saw the orthopedic hand surgeon yesterday. The results from the EMG came back negative - this is good news, meaning I don't have any nerve damage or muscle atrophy, and ulnar nerve entrapment is unlikely. Instead, he thinks the main culprit is carpal tunnel syndrome.

I received corticosteroid injections in both wrists, which was unpleasant, but I'm extremely hopeful that this will get me back to drawing again! I was feeling a lot of burning and pain from the shots yesterday, but I did notice when I had to jot down some notes, my hand felt stronger. I'm told to give it about a week to see results, but if all goes well, I'll be back to making my anime girl pinups again soon. ^_^

As always, thanks for your support!

The prospect of surgery seemed really frighting...so it really is wonderful news that your nerves and muscles are still healthy! Glad everything is going well and that the end of this chapter is in sights - We all look forward to the Queen's triumphant return!

Glad things are looking up, and please don't rush the recovery if you need more time!

Shei-kun

That's excellent news! I'm glad surgery isn't required, and while we're all eager for you to get back to drawing, I'm rather positive nobody is more eager than you are.

That's great news! Here's hoping the rest of your recovery goes smoothly :)

Hope the shots help. But don't rush to get back to boobies, hands are pretty damn important.

Get better soon!🙏

Honestly, it may very well still come to surgery. I'll write another detailed blog post soon, but the short of it is that I'm still having a lot of pain and issues with my hands. I'm grateful to have a doctor who's interested in trying other conservative approaches before going straight to the knife. But I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject, and it seems that for a lot of people, surgery is the inevitable final step. As scary as that is, I'm ready to try anything that gets me back to normal. :/

It definitely is a very difficult and frustrating position for you especially after all this time. Surgery will have its own set of challenges but if it needs to come down to surgery then so be it, I am sure at this point you are willing to face anything head on. Continuing to wish for your recovery!
