I’ve updated the Jakkari wiki page with all of the existing art and published information about them so far in the lead-up to their story. It now features 3500 words and 19 images from various concept art posts.

You can read it here:https://snekguy.com/wiki/species/jakkari/

Hey. Now that we get an up close look at their faces. These jakkari guys kinda remind me of the croot from Warhammer 40k. Just lizards instead of birds. And yes. I know birds evolved from lizards. Any chance the jakkari have some innate talents based around their diet. Don’t even get me started on jakkari tech and croot war spheres.

Snekguy

Nah, these guys are based on therapsids, which are actually the distant relatives of mammals. A lot of their features were inspired by Gorgonopsids in particular, so they have both reptilian and mammalian features, such as scales and fur.

mraanonymous

Are you sure you don’t have a scientific background? Took some electives in college?

Snekguy

I just like dinosaurs a little too much.

mraanonymous

We both know that’s a lie. You can never like dinosaurs TOO much. Anyway. How’s the turnip farmer story going? I tend to wait till a book is completed before I read it.

Snekguy

Not much left now, I expect it will be done this month.

mraanonymous

Fantastic. And I’m assuming you’ll take some time off before the jakkari story

mraanonymous

Great to hear. And I’m assuming you’ll take a break after turnip farmer. It was quite the project.

Snekguy

Nah I want to get to it ASAP.

mraanonymous

That’s why you’re popular man. You got the heart and soul of your fanbase.

D-Man

They are so ugly. I love them

Mas

Can't wait for the Jakkari story!!

JH

They need a series upgrade their technology is 😤

Snekguy

If they're very good girls and boys, Santa might bring them some jump drives for Christmas.

JH

Jakkari Christmas list: dear magical creature named Santa Claus I would like for you to deliver me fifty jump drives 50,000 pounds of ammunition and the head of a Betelgeusians queen thank you 😁

John May

Really interesting vehicle designs, utilitarian but alien, kind of mixing WH40K IoM and Tau aesthetic. Awesome sauce.👍

Lincoln Neal

I like their aesthetic and technology. Is it a sort of retro-futuristic tech feeling like what humanity might have developed after a century or two if they were invaded by alien bugs repeatedly starting in the mid Cold War era?

Snekguy

Yeah, most of the tech is based off experimental Russian cold war designs. I wanted to imagine what would happen if a civilization at that early space race tech level had to contend with aliens.
