Now that all of the versions of Goetic Justice on the various stores and websites are up to parity, and I've had a bit of a rest, I'm beginning editing work on the Autumn War. I'm aiming for a schedule of 20,000 words a day, with an ETA of 26 days, but due to the extreme length of the story, I will likely need to take rest days here and there to prevent burnout. As such, it will almost certainly end up a little longer than that estimate.

The Goetic Justice audiobook has passed quality control and is currently being distributed to retailers. I don't mean to keep teasing you guys, I just have no control over the process once the files have been sent off to the distributor. As soon as it goes live and is available for purchase, it'll be in your hands and inside your ears. I will of course need to take a day off editing to handle the launch.

Just an FYI, since the Autumn War is being restructured into four volumes (and four separate pages on the site), I will be removing the draft story from the website at some point. If you're still reading through the draft version or you want to keep it for any reason, I would recommend downloading it or saving it pretty soon.

For the time being, you'll be able to follow the editing progress here: https://snekguy.com/stories/pinwheel/the-autumn-war/

Volume 1 is basically done, I just have to run it through Grammarly for a final check. Overall completion is at 32%. I've been making good progress, and my morale is still high, but I'm gonna take a day or two off over the weekend just to prevent burnout.

Snekguy

Had to do a lot of art stuff today, but I'm back to work on the editing, and I ran five chapters through Grammarly today.

Snekguy

Ran a bunch more chapters through Grammarly, but this is going too slowly so I'm going to move on to proofreading Volume 2 and try to streamline my workflow.

Snekguy

Another 10,000 words edited today, and I also wrote a new epilogue to work as a lead-in to volume 2.

Snekguy

Another 15,000 words edited today, up to Chapter 4 of Volume 2. I'm alternating between proofreading and Grammarly passes now, so hopefully that'll streamline the process a bit.

Snekguy

Another 10,000 words edited, overall progress is at 41%

Snekguy

Another 20,000 words edited today, up to chapter 6.

Snekguy

Another 10,000 words proofread and edited. I’m going to be adding a second sex scene to Volume 2, as it’s a bit content-light compared to the other three volumes, all of which have very substantial scenes. It doesn’t need to be larger than 5-6 thousand words, so it shouldn’t extend the editing by more than three days.

Snekguy

I went back and ran another three chapters from Volume 1 through Grammarly today. We also have some concept art for the female Jarilan Drones on the way.

Snekguy

Another 20,000 words edited today.

Snekguy

Another 10,000 words today. There was a big storm yesterday that shut off my power for most of the day, hence the lack of an update, and there will certainly be more over the coming days, so expect a bit of disruption to my schedule.

Snekguy

25,000 words edited today, proofreading on Volume 2 is complete.

Snekguy

Another 10,000 words proofread and edited today. Might take a rest day tomorrow.

Snekguy

Another 20,000 words edited.

Snekguy

Another 10,000 words today.

Snekguy

15,000 words today. Volume 3 is proofread.

“Fuck, did we learn a moral lesson?” Fletcher added with an exaggerated grimace of disgust. “I’d better get hazard pay for this bullshit.” This is a consummate example of characterization through dialog. I also feel it on a near-spiritual level as a reader. *Chef’s kiss*

Snekguy

Did a lot of art stuff today so I didn't have time to edit. We have another book cover on the way.

Snekguy

Getting hit by some very large electrical storms again, so expect some disruptions to my schedule. If I vanish, it's because my internet service got knocked out.

Snekguy

Not a large update today, I was mostly rewriting one of the action scenes.

Snekguy

6000 words today, was a bit busier than usual.

Snekguy

Proofreading is complete! Moving on to the Grammarly phase.

Snekguy

Grammarly passes are 25% complete.

Robert Gilbert

Would it be possible for the sex scene to be between the human and borealan couple? I haven't read it since you finished writing it, so I've forgotten both of their names :P

Snekguy

Grammarly passes are 44% complete.

Snekguy

Grammarly passes are 60% complete. Volumes 1 and 2 are now done.

Snekguy

90% complete. Lost a bit of editing time handling the plushie pre-orders today.

Snekguy

The Grammarly passes and proofreading phases are complete. Now I just need to go through my list of notes and make sure all the issues I recorded have been addressed, and I can write the additional sex scene.

Snekguy

Made some decent progress today with time-consuming, annoying stuff like checking the capitalization on ranks and ship names. I'm about halfway through my notes, so maybe 1 or 2 more days on this stage.

Snekguy

I expect to be done with my notes tomorrow, then I can start writing the extra scene on Sunday.

Snekguy

The proofreading and grammar passes are complete, and all of my notes have been addressed. The only thing left to do is write that new scene, and it's ready.

Snekguy

Starting on the extra scene now. 2000 word update, new content at ‘Evan’s team made their way out of the garage’

Snekguy

2000 word update, new content at 'Quality over quantity'

Snekguy

2000 word update, new content at “Amongst other things, I’m sure,” Go to Volume 2, Chapter 11: Clean Getaway if you'd like to read it from the top. That brings the additional scene to 6,000 words, and the overall erotic content in Volume 2 to 12,000 words, which is much more balanced with the other volumes. That's it! I gotta edit this scene tomorrow, but that shouldn't take more than half a day's work, then I think I'm good to start making the ebooks and prepping the website for the launch. I have to make 16 ebooks, as each platform has different requirements, so that might take me a day or two. I also have to make the four new website pages for the different volumes and add in all the links. I've never been able to do a real launch before because I've never had covers ready before a story is finished, so I want to coordinate to make sure the ebooks are available on Amazon at the same time as the Patreon. I'm not expecting that to extend the wait, but it's worth mentioning. Right now, it's looking like it might be ready by this weekend if everything goes to plan, but that's a tentative ETA.

Snekguy

All versions of the Ebooks are finished and ready, and the website pages have been updated with the final versions of the stories. Now, I'm just waiting for Amazon to approve their versions and we're good to go! They usually take a couple of days so it's still looking good for this weekend, but I'll keep you updated.
