Here's the first 4000 words of the new story, Brokering Trust.

A scientist is granted a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to the Trappist system, home of the Brokers, where no human has set foot before. A seemingly simple expedition grows more complicated as he is forced to balance the interests of his government and those of the enigmatic aliens who have requested his help.

Unfortunately I had to attend a family function today and ran out of time for an update, but hopefully some fanworks will tide you over.

2000 word update, new content at “I have my moments.” Finished! Final word count is just shy of 198,000. I’m going to take a break for a day or two to recoup, and then I’ll start the editing process. It should take around a month, and I promised you guys a bi version, so I’ll have to take some time to write those new scenes too.

The first 20,000 words are edited, chapters 1-4. Please note that Weaver’s dialogue will be a bit fucky during this process, as the HTML hates it and it has to be tweaked manually for correct spacing.

Chapters 4-6 are done, another 17,000 words.

Chapters 6-8 are done, another 10,000 words. I had some feedback about moving David’s first nocturnal excursion outside his habitat to a little later in the story for a more natural progression, so bear with me while I tweak that section.

Had to work on some audiobook stuff today so I didn't have time for editing. The reshoots are all done and the editing is nearing its final phase.

Chapter 8 is done, another 10,000 words. Editing is approximately 30% complete.

Chapters 9 and 10 are done, another 10,000 words. I moved the scene where David accesses Selkie's terminal and merged it with one of the intranet sections, which should improve the pacing and keep it digestible.

12,000 words today, chapters 11 and 12 are complete.

12,000 words, chapters 13 and 14 are done. I’m trimming some of the exposition dump scenes and tightening those up. There’s some cool stuff that isn’t really related to the plot in any way, and that’ll be explored more in future entries.

Chapter 15 is done, 5000 words. Just a heads-up, I'm going to be entertaining family and traveling to a wedding over the next few days. I intend to keep editing, but updates may come at unusual times.

Chapter 16 is done, 7,000 words. I also added in a museum exhibit section about predation that slipped my mind during writing.

Chapter 17 is done, another 10,000 words. We're past the halfway point.

15,000 words, Chapter 21 and some of 22 is done. We’re at 85% completion.

20,000 words. Chapters 23, 24, 25, and the epilogue are done. That's it! The proofreading phase is finished. I have some more Grammarly passes to do on some chapters but the editing is pretty much complete. This isn't quite the end of the project, as I promised a gay version and will have to rewrite some scenes and make some changes for that, which will take a few more days. It's my birthday, and Starfield just came out, so I'm going to take the rest of the week off to visit family and play a little. Stay tuned, because I'll be running some Patreon polls over the next few days so you guys can vote on what I work on next.

I'm back from my space vacation. 6 chapters finalized today, 5 left. Editing on the hetero version should be done tomorrow. I also received the final versions of the files for the Widow's Welcome audiobook, which I will be reviewing as soon as I have time.

All editing phases are complete, that should be it for this version. Next step is rewriting a few scenes for the gay version. Weaver dialogue formatting is still fucky but I need to experiment with how that shows up in ebooks and on other sites before I commit to a fix.

The first four chapters of the gay edition for Brokering Trust are live. This is going to be a little more involved than I was hoping, so please bear with me as I work my way through it. I would also welcome any feedback about errors or weirdness that you come across. Both versions of the story are now accessible via the merged page.

Chapter 14 is done. This one required a bit more extensive editing. There probably won't be an update tomorrow, as I have to listen through the finished Widow's Welcome audiobook!

Chapters 18 and 19 are done. I also updated the human wiki page yesterday with a bunch of artwork and writeups that I've gotten since it was last updated. The Battleship, Beewolf, Dropship, Kodiak, Timberwolf, and Yagda have all been updated and expanded with new content.

The first chunk of Chapter 20 is done. This is the big sex scene, so this process is going to be quite involved, as I will both be editing existing content and adding in new content.

Another chunk of chapter 20 is done, and I added some new content. I’d say the scene is about 40% complete.

Not a lot of forward progress today, I wanted to go back and give that last scene another pass, and found some issues I wanted to correct. I also updated the Hetero version with a few small fixes and improvements I made to the Gay version.

Another chunk of content down today, the chapter is about halfway done. There will be some all-new content to replace the next scene tomorrow. I also finished the review and editing process for the audiobook today, so that’s ready to be uploaded as soon as I have the time.

5000 words, chapter 20 is finally done. Now, it's a straight shot to that second sex scene. Fingers crossed I can wrap it up by next week. Tomorrow is my day off, but I may not post an update on Monday, because the audiobook is ready to be uploaded and I need to get that done ASAP so it'll be available for Halloween.

The audiobook is finished and has been uploaded to my distributor. It’s currently undergoing QC, but it should be ready soon. I also had time to do some editing today, another 5000 words of chapter 21.
