Ahhh good episode

GodUsopp

love how much you guys get into the series you watch

The bath scene is my favorite in the show, because its exactly how i felt reading the books. I hated Jaime, then during his trip with Brienne I started to like hating him, because he was such a funny asshole getting humbled by her. Then, THIS happened and I realized I had trusted things I never saw. From what I knew of the Mad King.... this is extremely credible. After that, Jaime became my favorite character to read.

44:30 In the book it is more than that, every unsullied are given new humiliating names each day so they lose their identity. Also name "Grey worm" was the name for him only for that day, the day he was freed...

Green Gren

45:30 Jorah was trying to figure out whether Barristan Selmy was present in small council meetings because if he was there with Robert he could've heard messages Jorah was sending to Varys (about Daenerys and Vyserys) when Jorah worked for him to get his pardon... He was scared that if B Selmy knows, he will tell to Danny.

In the books, Loras and Margaery actually have an older brother, Willas and its to him that Cersei is supposed to marry. Since the show deleted Willas, I found extremely funny that she, who uses her charms to seduce and manipulate men, is forced by Tywin to marry a man she has NO chance to manipulate XD

If Joffrey died, it would go to his little brother, Tommen. And then Stannis.

Green Gren

58:00 No, child of Cersei and Loras would be X Tyrell (not Lannister), he just wanted to strengthen their alliance by marriage. However, child of Sansa and Tyrion would be X Lannister. Also I think if Tywin believes rumors about Cersei and Jaime to be true it will be perfect to sent Cersei to Highgarden so Jaime starts his own family and potentially finally accept his role as heir to Casterly Rock (it is just my opinion tho)

Anyway it is an interesting route regarding the narrative for Jaime. And what is important here: Jaime calls reasons for his kingslaying. Nobody said anything about honourable. What is honour anyways? Not wanting to kill his own father and letting the city burn is a good thing. Sure loyality is crushed however a different kind of honour is gained on the other hand.

Bins

Jaime was a member of the Kingsguard. That means he took an oath and can't be wed just like the Brotherhood of the watch. He doesn't like how people perceive him as the "Kingslayer" or "Oathbreaker" because he really did try to serve honorably. It is just it left him no choice but to make a crucial decision for the better of the realm.

The analysis was crazy. You guys remember literally everything! Fun fact: Jaime was 16-17 years old when he had to make the decision of killing the Mad King. The whole conversation he had with Cat about honour totally hits different after this scene. Jaime is horribly disillusioned about chivalry and honour, because the one thing he did in his life on his own volition that is actually benevolent and honourable (saving King's Landing from Wildfire) is the same thing that earned him a really bad reputation. People really hate him for the one good thing he did.

Once again I'm jealous for your attention to details guys. You remember things that I first noticed on my 2nd/3rd rewatch and it makes your reactions so satisfying to watch

JDanime

really glad to hear that it seems that way haha. this show has so much information sometimes, we feel like we're always confused 😂
