imo reze was the butterfly, makima was the spider, denji was the web. i think at that school moment they bonded so much, reze changed and became the person who decided to leave denji alone when she had the chance to kill him (after the fight on the beach), and also the person who would decide to return even tho she knew it could mean death

I’ll be able to watch this only in 6 hours so I briefly watched the ending to see if you cried at “I’ve never been to school either”. I started crying immediately too even though I’ve seen this movie 6 times😂 can’t wait to watch the whole video properly later

sorry for the spam but two more comments - from 1:22:08 to 1:22:23 you can see the building lights changing to count down from 10 to 1 lol - after the author watched the movie himself, he quoted saying: "As an audience, I thought, 'Makima did something unnecessary.' Then I was wondering, 'Why didn't this author let Reze and Denji meet?',so I couldn't sleep lol. It was a strange sensation of the questions from my own work coming back to haunt me." lol so even the writer himself was like "wtf i was too dark why did i do that to reze and denji" 😭

Finally I get to see a great reaction to this movie. Every reaction I watched before was just “wow this animation is insane” and it pissed me off lol

Denjis line after Reze said she was lying "but you taught me how to swim. Right?" is basically him saying "you let yourself be vulnerable for me", since she cant use her powers under water. So he knew Reze did like him enough to be vulnerable for him.

Devi's analysis on Makima with the mouse is so innocent lmao. My interpretation was that Makima is a sadist. She's saying she likes country mice because watching them get killed is calming to her. She never said she was a city mouse either. She can't see herself as a mice. She's something greater. She's the one who sends her dogs out to kill the mice. Just my interpretation. And its scary to know she was listening in on Denji and Reze's conversation the entire time because she knew they were talking about the mice.
