Ser Arthur Dane was basically the stereotypical knight in shining armor, he was awesome with the sword, very upstanding and a nice guy, had a hot princess looking sister (the girl with purple eyes that Ned danced with at harrenhal), theres some people in Westeross that think Jons mom is really Ashara dane the girl with purple eyes, shes never talked about again in the show or histories and lore but she threw herself from the window after her brother died, so some people in westeross think its because Ned dishonered her by impregnating her and then not marrying her and then killing her brother. Thats also why Catelyn is even more upset about it, Lords having bastards with random tavern girls isnt some insanely rare thing in westeross especially during war time , some westeross brides ignore it and think "theres no feelings there", but Ashara Dane being potentially Jons mom in Catelyns eyes feels so much worse, Its another high born woman whos beautiful and someone Ned had a crush on
