I’m not sure I’d call Gin a “good” guy. He’s far more grey than black or white. Everything he did for his plan was specifically for one person’s benefit: Rangiku’s. He traumatized Momo and Kira, upended the Soul Society, tormented Rukia, and split Hiyori in half in pursuit of that one goal. He does terrible things for a “good” reason and is much more complex of a character because of that.

That Gin poem is so good and this fight is one of the greatest displays of cope I've ever seen. Aizen literally makes up something about Ichigo discarding all spiritual pressure and transferring it into physical strength to cope with Ichigo bullying him.

Im telling y'all..they gonna pass out on tybw😅

Chris Hard

We actually do see him say he's sorry during the soul society arc. I actually went back and watched your reaction and you were super confused why he said that, rightfully so lmao

CaptainCameron

Gin definitely said I’m sorry back then. He said something like “I wouldnt mind being your prisoner just a little longer. Goodbye Rangiku. I’m sorry”

Few things: 1. Gin did say "I'm sorry" 2. A lot of Gin's secrecy is because Aizen's surveillance is *everywhere* (we see this where he's watching bleach with us in his reveal to Ichigo). He snitches or tries to confide or do anything, he's dead and that's IF they believe some lower level officer from the Rukon district (classism is very much a thing if you pick up on the dynamics from the soul society. Byakuya's inner thoughts reveals this a lot) 3. You guys got the poem! He's basically saying if Rangiku did all these things that he did and she said I love you, he wouldn't be able to say it back. It's why he distances himself from Rangiku in many regards. 4. Thank you for da meal :)

"get up and save your baddie RIGHT NOW" is a crazy line 😭

These episodes are amazing finally get the backstory on Gin and Rangiku which yes has been foreshadowed since Soul Society, it adds a lot of emotional weight to Gin’s betrayal also as others have said yes if you go back to episode 62 Gin says "I'm sorry" to her. Gin has a real purpose tied to protecting Rangiku and getting "something" back for her which she lost but we don't find out about it until the novels. Ichigo’s new powers here are so cool and how he got so strong so fast? It’s not just about raw power it’s a spiritual and internal fusion of his Hollow and Shinigami sides, similar to how Ishida grew in Soul Society it’s about the limits and peak potential. Remember Tensa Zangetsu, and White fused into one he is a “natural hybrid” unlike Aizen but it’s also because of the technique he learned for a cost, there's also some lore to it that is not revealed until the novels, but that’s pretty much why he’s so strong, you’ll find out more later on just why that is. Also, yes Bleach’s emotional tone is pretty unique. It’s not about tugging heartstrings in a typical way, but more melodramatic, somber, and sometimes nihilistic. The story leans into consequences, sacrifice, and internal struggles more than normal emotional payoffs. So yeah, these episodes deepen the story and character motivations a lot, and there’s way more going on under the surface than just what you see at first glance.

You guys actually did see when Gin said sorry. That scene was from ep 62 when the menos were picking up Aizen, Tosen and Gin to leave Soul Society. Gin said to Rangiku “I wouldn’t have minded being held by you a little longer. So long Rangiku, I’m sorry.” As he was covered in the yellow light called “Negacion” and elevated up to Hueco Mundo

Few notes: Hado 90 is the one Aizen used in ep 62 on Komamura without an incantation. The moment when Ichigo looks at Gin and Rangiku might've been Ichigo realizing finally what Gin was focused on this whole time. Remember a few episodes ago Ichigo telling Gin "the last time we fought, I don't know what you were looking at/thinking about, but it wasn't the fight with me." Rangiku stating "I know this feeling, it's hakufuku" refers to a kido that disorients and knocks out a person. They awaken feeling confused and unsure of memories of what happened. Momo had used this kido back in the soul society arc on a security guard to break out of her cell. Fun fact: Exactly 100 episodes ago, episode 208 is when kid Gin meets Aizen in the "Turn Back The Pendulum" mini flashback arc.
