The reason he knew, and this isn't confirmed, but it's one very educated guess. See, at that point, he had already used his Fullbring on Orihime, and if his power is a bookmark, well, that explains how he knew. He literally saw it in Orihime's memory

I agree that that's pretty much it. If he inserted himself into Orihime's past, he was there for every moment Ichigo and Orihime had together. Soul Society arc, rescuing Orihime, his fight against Grimmjow, then Nnoitora, then Ulquiorra, THEN his fight against Ulquiorra where he transforms into his hollow form – so he would be aware of the strength that Ichigo possessed because he was there when it happened. I don't think he "sees" their memories as much as he experiences them along with the person he has cut. You got hit by a car on your 16th birthday? Tsukishima was there because he's the one who took you to the hospital. You got attacked by a mugger? Tsukishima was there because he fought them off of you. It really is an aboslutely insane power because like Ginjo says, there's no guarantee that killing him gets rid of the effect, and he's so entwined in your life that you just accept his presence without question.
