You were curious about the backstories, in the manga there is a tiny bit more. -Giriko's watch was an heirloom, passed down for generations, they called it the watch of good fortune. Giriko inherited the watch when he was young, and whenever he prayed to the watch, his wishes came true. Years went by and he was very arrogant and got kinda drunk on power, so he wanted to test how far he could take that power. His experiment was to try and kill his wife without touching her or doing anything, but just by looking at her. And it worked, his wife grew weaker and weaker and died after the allotted time passed. But at the moment she died, he seconed guessed himself and he wanted to stop the timer, he didn't want her dead after all. The second that happened, his eye caught on fire and he lost it. After that he was convinced that there was a God of time and that he was being punished for violating the rules and wanting to stop the timer. Even though that's just how his fullbring works and there was no God of time, he was obsessed with the idea of it, as we've seen him mentioning it multiple times. -Jackie grew up in a pretty poor family and her father was involved in illegal things. One day he brought Jackie a pair of beautiful expensive boots, adult sized. She knew they were stolen, because they wouldnt have been able to afford them, but she didn't care. She loved them and wore them all the time and took care and always cleaned them. One day she came home and her whole family was killed because of her fathers illegal activities. That was the first time her boots got dirty, with her brothers blood and she awoke her powers. -Yukio didn't talk when he was little, so because he wasn't the perfect child, his parents hid and locked him away in a room, where he had everything but was always alone. So he started thinking, that he wasn't the problem for not being perfect. They were the imperfect ones (which is true), always looking down on him and not considering adults and children to be equal human beings. But he became pretty twisted, stealing all their money and bringing them to ruin to the point where they killed themselves. He was gloating about it in the previous episode. -There are plenty of negletful parents everywhere, and kids have been mistreated and abandoned for less. That probably applies to Riruka too, but I'm not sure. The manga doesn't show more than the anime did in her case.

damn the anime missed so much. wish they animated just a little more for us to see
