38:22 Gaoshun is not a eunuch. Just like Jinshi, Gaoshun uses medication to suppress male functions and pass himself off as a eunuch.

Mad Man Moon

Yep. We saw them both drink the medicine.

Mad Man Moon

And the Empress is the previous emperor's mother.

Mad Man Moon

Gaoshun has to play along with being a eunuch when people talk to him, he's still playing the part. Jinshi says "you too", meaning Gaoshun *isn't* impotent now, just like him - he is taking the medicine which suppresses their testosterone - but could have the side effect of making them impotent with long-term use.

Mad Man Moon

I assume "becoming a eunuch after angering the Empress" is a created backstory for the sake of their cover.

JDanime

thank you for clarifying :D

I honestly feel like if you did not scream during the episode you were not paying attention enough or enjoying the story fully.
